I've been mucking around with stuff to no end, i figured i must grit my teeth and admit my stupidity, I just can't work it out for myself.

    I'm on a 4.2E wii,
I have usb loader GX rev 874, it says its running ios 249 rev 19
I'm also using the loader rather than from homebrew.
    I have a 500gig LaCie hdd

It loads up fine, looks awesome as if taunting me, so it detects my hdd but dosn't detect any of the games no mater what format I use... its in Ntfs at the moment.
    it has folder wbfs>*>*.wbfs

    i'm at a total loss...
    Please help?

I don't think USB Loader GX supports NTFS. Use Configurable USB Loader or WiiFlow.

NTFS is not widely supported right now in the Wii scene. There are issues with loading games directly from the Wii disc drive onto the HDD and such. But if you must use NTFS, go with Configurable USB Loader.

Again, use configurable loader or wiiflow. Both of them have very good support for NTFS. That said, FAT32 is by far the best format for the Wii currently... All homebrew and almost all loaders support FAT32 where as only a few homebrew and a couple loaders support NTFS
