how do you make the dump ?
From real disc -> use another loader to dump/install the game (users reported that USBLoaderGX doesn't dump that game correctly)
From ISO -> use WiiBackupManager on window. If you are on Mac, do not use WiiBackupFusion (There are reports that games with split files are not working) but WiijManager instead.

So I finally got my Wii playing back-up GC games tonight. All is fine as far as I can tell so far, just a slight program. I soft reset (A+X+Start) Wind Waker, but it shut down my Wii instead or resetting the game. Is there a way to fix this? Also my save files for FE:PoR was made with a EU disc, yet I have a US ISO, is there a way to make the save file compatible in any way?

If there's no way to fix the soft-resetting I'll probably just buy some DVD-r's and burn them if that would work.

Bumping this, but also coming with another problem. I tried playing Wind Waker earlier, took me four tries to get to the file select screen without the Wii actually turning off. Literally off, so there's an orange light. When I made the file and actually got into the game, I was on the pirate ship and had just completed the rope challenge to get the Bait Bag and it blackscreened when Tetra tells me to go back outside. How can I get rid of this?

Something else I could do is post a system check, saw the link in Cyan's sig and think it could help a lot:

And the CFG I use is v70r65

Gateway 3ds flashcarts are bought only once? I mean if a new version is available on 3DS you can upgrade the Gateway's firmware too? I am asking the same for DSTwo too. Noob question indeed.
The Gateway only works on 4.1-4.5, we don't know if it can be updated since there's no point yet since if you update the 3DS to the latest the Gateway won't work anymore.

The DSTwo can be updated just fine yes. Just always update the flash cart before the 3DS.

You mean a way to store and play channels (WiiWare / VC) as backup instead of having them on the Wii ?
It's possible.

It's called Emulated NAND. it emulated the internal storage of the console on an external device as if it was the Wii itself. It's useful as the Wii as only 512MB if size, and using this method you can have up to 2TB Wii's virtual memory size to install channels.
You create a NAND copy of your console, or create a brand new one on your SD or USB and tell the USBLoader (or dedicated homebrew to launch channels only) to emulate the Wii into the specified folder.

You can check your usual USBLoader to see if it allows you to make a NAND dump and to install new channels (wad).
You can also use ModMii to create a clean dump (you will have to synch wiimote, etc.)
You can use ShowMiiWads program for Windows to manage the dump to add/delete wads.

I'm currently using an emulated nand, with usbloader GX. Where do i place the wads I want to have?
I also just downloaded showmiiwads, yet cant figure out how to use it.

You need to install/extract the wads content into the Emulated NAND.
In USBLoaderGX there's a "wad installer" to do it. copy the .wad files wherever you want.
Go into Settings > Features > Wad installer > Select the wad you want to install and it will install it to your "EmuNAND Channel path".

return to the main loader's screen and enable "EmuNAND" from the 4th icon at the top to display Channels from EmuNAND. You can now launch them.
Attention, some WiiWare games doesn't work, and Some VC games require older cIOS (especially N64 games).
just try the one you want to play and see if it works.

edit: be sure to use the latest revision. (1217 or newer).

How can I make sure I'm on the newest revision?
And that seems to have done it, just the above question and everything is perfect.

DEVO = Devolution (an external Gamecube Loader that USBLoaderGX can detect, and sends information to it to launch the gamecube game you want to play)
Devolution, DIOS MIOS, DIOS MIOS Lite and Nintendont are options available in the loader, you can launch GameCube games using different method : Disc, Backup on SD, backup on USB, etc. each method requires a different Game Loader that you "add" into your Wii or homebrew channel, and USBLoaderGX takes advantage of their presence. Instead of using 4 different Game Loaders, you can use only a single one which launch them for you. the advantage is a single interface and configuration.

to update USBLoaderGX :
http://www.mediafire.com/folder/t2x95zd9rz3rc/USBLoaderGX
Download the latest revision (1218 as of today), and extract the boot.dol file located in the IOS249 folder in the zip.
copy that boot.dol on your SD card/apps/usbloader_gx/ and replace the previous one.

I like the sound of it, where can I get it. I dont trust google search to turn up an accurate result.

Have done, it works fine. Anyway I can make sure every wad will work?

So, I've been using AccioHacks and the Gecko loader to use cheats with all of my games; I like the interface, it's straightforward, and I don't have to pull out my SD card to get more cheats. However, this doesn't seem to be compatible with USBLoaderGX's built in Ocarina function. So, I've installed Ocarina, removed all my old Accio cheats, and I'm really really done trying to create cheat files for all the games that I own. Is there a .zip file floating around that contains all of them? If it does exist, my search skills fail me. I don't imagine it'd be too big. Lastly, will Ocarina work properly with GC games on Dios Mios via USBLoaderGX? (Loaded from either backup or disc - I have the proper revisions in place)

What does the Exception (DSI) occurred! screen mean? A while ago someone said it appeared when you did stuff with GC controller/memcard inserted, but I've been having it happen without them in.

It just means the program crashed. All the numbers on the screen just help the programmer understand where it crashed and help them fix it. There's a whole bunch of things that can cause it and it all depends on what program you're running.

Is there a guide somewhere to take my Wii back to an un-modded state so I can re-mod it? I'm thinking maybe I have done something (I softmodded my Wii many years ago when I wasn't tooattentive to the details of modding) which is wrong and causing constant DSI crash erros and the inability to play GC games from USB reliably.

The safest and best solution is just to mod over the top of it as if it had never been modded before. (UN-modding is not completely possible, dangerous and has no real benefits)

I would suggest ModMii for Windows. Run it and tell it you've never modded before and it will download everything you need and generate a guide for you to follow.
