My question, GREAT place for it, just cant find the answer anywhere, although Im sure its everywhere...

Is it okay to load a wii iso (PAL) using USB Loader GX on a NTSC Wii 4.2U? I thought I read someone that this was a big no-no (brick possiblities), but would like to know for sure. Thanks!

I have a few custom channels on my Wii that I installed a long time ago but would like to get rid of.

I don't have the wads that I installed them with. Can I just remove them via the Wii Channel Menu or is that dangerous?

Anyone? :X

Thanks CSI, gonna try tonight. It looks like the Wii don't have the right of write on the SD.
Any way to make USB loader GX load on USB drive? It only gives me the SD option...?Updated USB Loaders (including GX) can be run from your USB drive; set up an apps/ and usb-loader/ folder system like on your SD card, and run it using the newest version of the Homebrew Channel (press the (1) button and switch device to USB) or using an updated forwarder which checks USB for apps (Troy makes good channels that all meet this requirement).

Thanks!Backup loaders are region free. The only difference is that you should use the USB Loader options to Force NTSC for that game, since PAL games run at a different video frequency and can appear choppy or in black-and-white. There's no risk to the Wii though.

Using the Wii Channel Menu to remove them does pretty much the same thing as using the WAD to uninstall it. You can also use AnyTitleDeleter although that's not recommended since it can leave tickets in the system. Removing via Data Management or uninstalling the Wad removes it entirely.

Sorry, iwas meaning to load wfts files from the usb drive with gx. I only have the option of loading files on the sd card and therefor,i must use the cfg usb loader (not really user friendly for my wife...)

Um, it's sort of designed for USB support. Make sure you're using a recent cIOS revision, and plug your WBFS-formatted USB drive into the bottom USB port on your Wii (if you were looking at it lying on its side).

If your missus cant use Configurable USB loader, you may as well give up right now.

It doesnt get much easier than that package.

I dont like USB Loader GX, but thats only my opinion, FWIW.

And all loaders are designed by default to go looking for a USB device ahead of SD.

Make sure your USB Device is plugged in to the lower USB port.

Well, i guess that's the problem, Ill see tonight. However, my drive isn't on a wtfs partition, files are simply converted in a folder wtfs. It works for cfg usb loader actually, so I tought it would in GX

As for my wife, I don't mind load her games for her. If she plays more than a week, I'll simply buy the real game.

Thanks a lot guys

The folder should be called wbfs.

Hey guys can anybody link me to a newb friendly guide on how to use and install the wad manager? Most of the guides go into USB loader stuff of which I have no interest thanks

Is hacking this very complicated? Im not much of a technological person, and i was nervous as hell when i was installing CFW on my PSP. (All of the steps and things seem so complicated). I mainly wanted to hack it for the ability to play downloaded Wii Games. (Mainly for my parents since they hate buying games, and partly for me so i can play Monster Hunter 3 when it comes

Wii hacking can be a long and multi-part process, but the changes made are all individually small and relatively harmless. There are several excellent guides which will make the process pretty straightforward (check the Modify Any Wii sticky). If you've got a wifi connection and a free SD card or two, go for it - a hacked Wii can do a lot of cool stuff that a virgin Wii can't.

If you use a USB drive why don't you try using one of the USB loaders? I use Configurable USB Loader with the only Japanese game I have, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, and all the text is fine.

Tried using USB Loader GX to back up a game onto a thumb drive (as a test – it corrupted my partition table last time I used it on an external HDD), and both times I tried it, it got up to 100% but didn't move from there – the 'time remaining' just kept rising, and the console didn't respond as well. Anybody else had this?

Thanks guys, looks like I didn't completed the full CIOS installation with Hermes

I got a few other questions if you're not tired of me

1. Games like Wii Sports & Resort don't load at all, even in 222 mode. At the loading, I lost my TV signal totally (!) and I can only reboot the console. First time I saw this, other games are fine with cIOS222. Any ideas? Need to use the alt.dol method for many Motion Plus games.

Which alt.dol ? SD, Disk, player.dol?

Thanks

How much memory is available in the nand? how big in mb,kb, or b is one block? I think the blocks remaining has gone into the negatives on my wii. My wii said 0 blocks left but when I deleted a 200 block file, it said 80 or so blocks. How is this possible?
