im dont know much about downgrading etc etc.
ive noticed that 3.2 is able to do backuploading from the disc channel via startpatch. (is this even true?) if it is, i would like to downgrade back to 3.2.

My wii used to be on 3.4, and then updated to 4.1 via wad installation. the only IOS' ive installed via wad is 60,53,55,56 (in case this info is needed). it also has a vulnerable boot1, which has allowed me to install bootmii as boot2 and ios. boot2 version is either 2 or 3, but definitely not 4.

Would it be safe to downgrade from 4.1 to 3.2? im not too keen on using cioscorp for various reasons, and this seems like a much easier task to do.

halp anyone?

which backup launcher are you using with thie manager, usb loader didn't recognize the HD with a game instatlled with WiiBackupManager

P.S. it's kind of funny that i have two medals for sucking and asking so many questions

I use GX but I always used the console drive or wbfs manager to put the games on the drive

if your using originals you have to rip to pc with a certain LG drive and you have to decrypt them aswell I think(or Use the console drive)

I have a question about changing regions.. my Wii is Japanese, and I'd like to change the region.. but by doing that, will J games stop working after the change?
no. use region free hack for the system menu, or better use loaders so that you don't have to apply hacks at all.

Alright, I guess a minorly nooby question here. My Wii is not letting me install the HBC .6 for some reason... Says no known vulnerable IOS. Hmmm... Well, I have it on my Wii already, but I'm worried about if something messes up and I need a newer version. Check the sig for stats. Used the "simple" tutorial stickied here in the Wii hacking place.
Your problem is cIOSCORP. What you need to do is use DOP-IOS MOD to install the latest IOS36

Ahh... (sorry for a late reply) and would this mess up cIOSCORP? ooooooor wut?

I was installing HBC for a friends wii & cIOS249.
Problem is i tryed to load NeoGamma and it said my 249 was rev1 & should be using rev14, so i found a file on my pc: IOS249-64-rev13b.wad which i was using, i used wad manager with 249 ios selected & installed the rev13b wad over the top of it.
Now NeoGamma & a few other apps wont start & if i open wad manager & try install using ios249 the wii freezes, So it looks like i've messed up that ios.. I tryed to use AnyTitleDelter to delete ios249 but i get a bunch of errors when its starting, then when i choose to uninstall/delete ios249 it give me 2 more errors saying "invalid key" or "not found" or somthing??
I also tryed to reinstall the 249 ios with the app: cIOS_Installer249.
I sent my friend home with there wii saying i installed some vc games but neogamma wont work for some reason, I'm sure there's gotta be some way to reinstall ios249 and have it working again but after like 3-4hours trying & searching i've found nothing..
I really hope someone knows what to do in this situation as i dont want to messup my friends wii..
Any info will be greatly appreciated.

i have modded my wii but i did not update the firmware using the hermes cios installer to merge the ios's together to allow the wii to use usb instuments. can i just run the hermes ios installer and update the ios's or do i have to start from scratch again.

super wii noob here, just got given one that wasn't being used. Running ver 3.1E (aussie pal console if that matters).

I've grabbed the 4.2 palupdate.zip for xzxero's guide and was going to follow that but i keep reading comments where people say dont upgrade to 4.2 or its not recommended and to stay on 4.0/4.1. The noob guides here even say avoid 4.2 so its bloody confusing.

The guide looks good so I dont think I'll have any issues running though it, just want to clear up the conflicting info on which system version I want to be running. given im still on a really old version, i got plenty of choices and want to get it right.

I was trying to upgrade from 4.1U to 4.2. I did completed all the mentioned steps as in "http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=171901" but when it all ended it rebooted itself and after that my wii is not starting. It just gives a blank screen after startup.
I tried restarting it several times, but of no use.

Please help
