Quick question here : It's it possible to play wad vc games on 3.4? I played on 3.2 but i want to keep my wii updated. If so, please tell me how!

VC's usually don't need an update. WiiWare, however need the IOS36 or 37. You can either update and the already installed WiiWare will work but will disable some Homebrew apps.

You can always downgrade or use wwpacker to fix the WiiWare games.

Yes it is posible to play them, but you need to install them first, and you need IOS249 (cIOS36_r7) to be able to use Wad Manager 1.3, other wise you'll have to downgrade, but still to do so you need IOS249

I just want to use softmii so install custom health screen because the Healthii istaller do not work. Do I have to install CIOSCORP to do that. Also, I'm at version 3.2E and have never had a higher version. I also have preloader installed. On which step should I start?

You don't need to install softmii to get custom boot splash, just preloader and healtii, and from the softmii package the tweak tool in case the healtii installer can't work

ok i checked & it says i have to install 26 before i get to 27 but my wiimote losses sync when i get 2 preloader ive tried wad manger it fails i could instal boot dols with gc pad & preloader thats how i got hbc back

open HBC and install preloader v0.27 from there, no need to do 26 first...!!!
smile.gif
not sure why your wiimote losses sync, I had no problem when 25 was on my Wii

ill try but how am i supposed 2 instal it dont u need the wii mote or can i use the gc pad the reason for the problems is son was over wit some friends & wanted 2 play with my wii & the genius formated the system & now i dont get no boot up screen get error autobooting system menu but if i hold reset it lets me get into pre loader options with the gc padi could instal boot dols with pre loader

so you don't have HBC..??? geezz you maybe are screwed, sorry, without HBC there is no Wad Manager, without Wad Manager no new SysMenu, without sysmenu, good-bye Wii, did they formated and upgrade..??

Yeah. It`s an Ntsc Wii with 3.2u. I used the riiskimod v2 guide after I got rid of Gamma and CIOSCORP.

check if your output file was 10.5MB big, if not then your file is bad and you need to create it again

Yeah, it's 10.5MB. 11,022,336 bytes to be exact.

this is probabaly a dumb post but i need to know 2 things.

1) everytime i update my preloader from .25 to .27 and after the update is finished i still see i am still on .25 and there is still an update to version .27 what i ended up doing is downloading the new version from wiibrew and i still see my preloader on .oh yeah i forgot to mention the preloader i first had in my sd card was .26 and i was seeing .25 at that time.

2)although i like to download different health screens using softmii tweaks i would like to know if there is a way to change my health screen back to the one the nintendo wii started with.

about question 2 i think it was answered in the beginning of the softmii thread but i'm not to sure.i'm looking at post #3 and #4

1) The 26 being 25 thing is the softmii packages fault. It was pre25, just labeled as 26. But the issue you are having with 27 makes no sense. How are you installing it? Download the Pre27, rename the file boot.dol and stick it in apps/pre27 on your SD. Run the hack remover, then run pre27, I can't imagine it comes up as 25 after that.

Where does it "come up" as 2.5? When you boot to preloader?

2) just run the softmii tweaks and point it at file 00000000042.app (or 45 for pal) If you don't have that file anymore, google it. (but not mine, I made up the number of 0's)

Update is broken on .25.

If you had softmii, there was one package that has the preloader 0.25 although it was tagged as 0.26

Get the original 00000042.app from a SysMenu WAD. Install that using Softmii Tweaks

What do you mean? You can check what Preloader version you have by booting into its menu and check on bottom-left or bottom-right

thanks i'll get that wad file right now.

He was quoting me. I just wanted to make sure he wasn't going into HBC and seeing an apps folder for pre25 and thinking that means that is the version that is installed...

Apparantly there was a typo, but he edited the post, instead of just explaining the typo, so now I am quite confused.

is there any current wii system menu hack that enables sdhc reading like homebrew channel, but directly from wii system menu?
ALSO
i just inserted metroid prime 2, and my reboots (i can hear it trying to boot the game). I deleted mios, and installed the wad3 from softmii. how do i fix it?

No there isn't and probably it wont be any hack to enable that cause no one is trying to
laugh.gif
and softmod can't run GC backups
this is not a backup. this is an original game. I would never pirate metroid series. Their devs deserve every penny.

Well haven't the devs already gotten all the money they got? The department stores order as many games as they need, till they don't make them any more, then they are recirculated through the used game stores, which don't give the devs any money. Then again, you could have bought it at release.

dude i do have hbc but wad manager needs the wii mote my wii mote turns the system on but then flashes

I'm not sure but I think Wad Manager also can function with the GC controller, but first please install preloader v0.27, first turn ON your Wii without anything plugged (GC memory cards, GC controller) then if you Wiimote hasn't been sync'd then plug the GC controller and go to HBC, then run and install preloader v0.27, or better yet install with wad manager the new sysmenu.wad if the wiimote is not supported by Wad Manager, then install first preloader

You should try to run again healtii to create the 00000042.app file and use the tweak tool

Well it has been answered already, v0.25 can update from there, you need to run the v0.27 installer (thing that you've already done

)

Use FS Browser and extract:
title/00000001/00000002/content/00000042.app (NTSC-U) or 45.app (PAL) and save it in your PC

QUOTEthis is not a backup. this is an original game. I would never pirate metroid series. Their devs deserve every penny.
use WUFE and insert any new game to extract to entire update partition, and then use Wad Manager to install the MIOS extracted, try to use recent released game (3.1, 3.2, 3.3)
