i have an idea... parental controls to block off the kiddies access to settings maybe?

also, anyone care to tell me what updating to 3.4 then downgrading will remove and stuff?

like which, cIOS and homebrew will be removed from my wii? and will i have to re-install HBC? fancy gettin rid of some of the hidden crap is all

AND now that i have the softmii and cIOScorp and preloader, will i even need any of the cIOS and gamma launcher anyways?

and should i even bother if everything is working perfectly?

Did you have HBC installed? Tried loading that? Any errors when trying to load the system menu from Preloader? AFAIK a format from the settings menu only deletes saves and channels. I can't see him having updated from a disk as that would have most likely reinstalled the system menu and gotten rid of preloader.

Updating to 3.4 restores all your IOS and the system menu. IIRC it doesn't uninstall any homebrew, but you won't be able to run anything trucha signed. HBC *should* still be there.

Side note: Anyone know what all this hidden stuff is people are wanting to remove? Someone enlighten me. Does uninstalling wads not clear everything they left behind besides maybe game saves? The only thing I can think of that you can't EASILY get rid of is the copied sys menu .app preloader creates, and I don't believe reinstalling the system menu will delete it either.

I've been out of the scene a bit, and I was wondering if someone could catch me up. I had Wiigator .3 (original, I think) in early december, and it works well, but has a few game glitches. I don't have a good feel reading threads what's new, or what I should update to. Can anyone help me out?

i did have hbc but when i start my wii i get error autobooting system menu under the preloader 25 options i dont know but using a gc pad will it let me use the preloader being dat it installs starfall hacks cause the wiimote losses sync

and and, if i want to play an NTSC game on it, softmii 0.9.5 with preloader etc, then do i have to change the region settings in preloader?

i know it sounds stupid but its because when i have region free and force video it doesnt let me play some pal games, guess i'll just have to mess around with them anyways coz i cant be bothered hangin around waitin

And SilverSurfR, i think its things like DVDX, you install the WAD but it doesnt appear as a channel, but its effects are there, you can play dvds in this case (hence a hidden channel) you can remove the hidden channels using any title deleter anyhow

Yes, you should downgrade but this is part of the installation process for Softmii so if you follow the guide step-by-step you will downgrade to 3.2 anyway.

i have preloader0.27 on my wii but have noticed there is no hold Y on GC pad for boot in the hacks, i tried to apply starfall for this hack but it fails anyone now what i could do

Hi, First time here and a wii noob. My wii is 3.3U.. I just installed the Twilight hack and THC w/o a hitch....I installed wiigator v0.3....when i launch wiigator.back up launcher...the burned game(shaun whites snowboarding) shows up but when i hit start I get ERROR #001, unauthorized device has been detected. what am i doing wrong and how can i solve this?

Do you only have the 1 wiimote? No other sync'd ones to try? If not GC pad will probably be your only hope as long as 0.25 can be used with a GC pad. (I'm not sure and don't have one to test with).

Yeah. It`s an Ntsc Wii with 3.2u. I used the riiskimod v2 guide after I got rid of Gamma and CIOSCORP.

Search for Gamma Launcher, install his cIOS and use the Gamma 002fix launcher, that's all the new things..!!

Your Wiimote should be fine, if it doesn't sync in preloader settings, then even preloader must be damaged, all of the major hacking gurus are right, it is more dangerous to getting rid of the hacks than gettting them runing in your system, why do you want to get rid of them..?? aparently everyone is formating their systems now...!!!

And don't get confused with this, preloader doesn't have starfall incorporated, the hacks you install are supoused to be the same ones as in starfall, but preloader is not starfall at all

Disable region free and force disc settings, those ones don't work, and the hidden things on your system, are the tickets of your non-purchased channels that you erase thru the Wii Settings, but formating you get rid of those...!!

starfall is not needed anymore with preloader installed, the reason there is no press Y button function in preloader, is because you have the press reset and hold to enter to preloader settings, wich is soooo much better than press Y...!!!

Check the compatibility list, maybe there is something there that can tell you what is wrong with that game

check if your output file was 10.5MB big, if not then your file is bad and you need to create it again

No there isn't and probably it wont be any hack to enable that cause no one is trying to

ok i got hbc running using the gc pad being that when my wii starts up it boots straight to preloader 25 the reason for gc pad is my wii mote turns off once it loads preloader any ideas

Hoped I would not have to write here... but here it goes:

I just want to use softmii so install custom health screen because the Healthii istaller do not work. Do I have to install CIOSCORP to do that. Also, I'm at version 3.2E and have never had a higher version. I also have preloader installed. On which step should I start?
