A friend dropped off a PS3 for me to inspect. He said he was not getting a display. I never touched a PS3 really, so I began to look online and it told me to hold down the power button when turning the system on, then let go after the second beep in order to reconfigure the video. That doesn't work. So I was then told to remove the hard drive and if it's the hard drive and not the GPU, that it will boot and complain about there being no hard drive. Well it being an old George Foreman Grill model, I pulled out the hard drive from the side, but am still sitting at a black screen. I also tried the old PS 1/2 video adapter cable but still nothing. Does this mean the GPU is fried?
