So, I've been running nintendont via usb loader GX and it was all working great, except for some freezes I got while playing Luigi's Mansion. But when I got to the end of the game, the game always freezes, the sound gets stuck in one note and that's the end of it. I mannaged to beat the game once, but it froze after the last boss, but since then, I can't even get to the boss, cause the game will freeze in the animation that leads to the boss battle. I also tried playing Super Smash Bros. Melee to check if it was an iso problem, but after something like 10 minutes playing SMBM the game froze as well, the same way it did with Luigi's Mansion. Can someone help me?
nintendont version number?

forced settings?

md5 checked isos?

wii or wiiu?

Then its probably your hard drive if it's not your isos
I Will check my ISOs when I can, today hopefully, but the weird thing is that I am able to play Wii games with no problem at all, so I guess it's not my HD.

I just downloaded the latest loader from nintendont page, I don't know which version it is.
Sorry, don't know what are forced settings, could you explain to me?
I saw your explanation on md5 a few pages back and will test my isos luckily today
Wii regular version.

Wii games and gamecube games are ran differently

forced settings are forced videomodes, forced widescreen, forced progressive and such, the stuff that say forced on nintendont settings.

For those that are saying that some sort of "Home Menu" for Gamecube games would be neat...

You have to remember this is an interpreter, not an emulator.
The interpreter uses hardware already inside the Wii/U and, since it works in Gamecube environment, you can't access Wii options while in such environment.

Hence why a Home Menu-like feature won't be an option.
If it were an emulator, sure, why not, but it is not.

Too bad...

This one http://www.nintendont.net/p/getting-started.html
So, i checked my Animal Crossing ISO. Browsed to the MD5 and SHA - 1 software, went into the redump.org, searched for the game and my MD5 numer didn't match any version of MD5 the site shows. Does this means it's a bad iso? If yes, where can a download good ones?

I know that, but if the problem was my HD, both types of games would freeze, I guess.

that is outdated that leads to the last google code one where it jumped to github if your wii has internet settings active update inside nintendont to get to the last github one.

My Wii does have internet, but since I'm using nintendont with USB Loader GX, I don't see where I can upload it directly from the console.

And what about de md5 iso?

md5 also matters alot but before making tests you should be on the latest version anyway.

go to your homebrew channel chosse nintendont directly and load it, choose sd or usb depends on where you have your isos, then wehn seeing the game list press B, then when seeing the options press 1/X depending if your using wiimote or an controller, then choose download nintendont and it will download the latest versions then restart the app by pressing home like it says on the screen.

OMG, man, I think I'm doing everything wrong. Despite having the nintendont on my USB Loader GX, when I open the Homebrew Channel I don't have the app there, it only shows the apps on my sdcard.

apps on usb only appear when you dont have an SD card inserted just click it off and you will see the apps on usb devices.

I'd recommend just dumping it yourself. If you don't have the game, just buy a used copy and use a Wii to dump it.

This project is great. I don't see how it can get better. *reminisces when it only could play one game*
I thought Dios Mios was as good as it can get but Nintendont and the ability to play music that didn't work on DM proved me wrong. The only thing that could be better was going back to the main menu from a Gamecube menu (unless this has been cracked because I literally loaded up Nintendont yesterday).

how the hell would something like a video recorder ever be possible with our slow write times? also we are on a real console so to even get near the FIFO in that way would require some ugly, big hacks which probably would let the game run at like 2fps if it wouldnt crash.
Alright, thank you for the information. I will update the lists accordingly.

Hmm... Is there a feasible alternative then?
Nintendont Wishlist
  • Swiss' widescreen sprite patching
  • 4:3/16:9 aspect ratio setting
  • More controller and adapter support
  • Home menu?
  • Ability to take screenshots and record video

Nintendont Pipe Dreams
  • Better framerate in some parts of some games
  • N64 support (New app)
  • FIFO dumping

Strikethrough shows something shot down by a dev.

1) What advatages does Swiss have over the already widescreen patches?
Most of the patches implemented in Nintendont for Widescreen were done by hardcoding Cheat Codes for the games.

2) My guess is that you mean Aspect ratio setting ON THE FLY... with the toggle of a button?

3) More? I think this app covers the most popular and most demanded controllers out there. Third party support would be a pain in the ass.

4) Scratch this one too.

5) That I'd like to see too.

For the rest I don't have a word for those. :P

Not true, I recall Fix94 saying that while this app uses native Wii hardware it has some sort of emulation going on for certain stuff, hence why he says it's inaccurate to say that it's not an emulator when it partially is, besides if Wii games have a Home Menu why can't Nintendont? Many apps have nice home menus, USB Loader GX, Wii Xplorer, Wii Save Manager, and like you said most emulators do.
