I Tried Smash Bros Melee : it froze exactly after 2 minutes (I start to count when Nintendont boots the game). I tried two times, and it frozes exactly at 2min, like there was a timer that says its' time to crash :p

EDIT : oh, and intro plays smoothly, it frozes on the title screen where push start appears

ps : just in case, my HDD does not have ANY timer to put it in sleep mode. It works great with wii and gamecube games (Nintendont rev2.293)
All my games are full 1:1 verified ISOS

EDIT 2 : back to rev 2.293 (same setup, same options, same game) : Melee works great
intro loops like it should

Same for me also.

Melee freezes for me and so does Kirby Air Ride.

Isn't exactly the answer I was expecting, yes it's the master mod, yes it's not the master mod, yes it's ideal to have a clean 296 version with only the PSO fix implemented? Yes, what exactly? :p
you should try fix t9 version abode maybe that fixes your issues since without ppl who have random crashing drives or init di drives its hard to know if it works or not without testers.

Oh I didn't have any issues with my hard drive, I just wanted to be on the safe side and have a copy of R296 with the PSO fix implemented in case some issues happen down the road, I can't do long testing atm anyway I'm busy with work related stuff so testing many games and for a long time has to be done by other users not me, sorry about that.

Dunno why r301 is working fine for me. I played spyro for nearly 3 hours non stop yesterday and no freeze. This game is know to stream data constantly and auto save. Maybe is it because I use a sandisk tumbdrive, it is stable for me.

sonictopfan : no offense, but I know EXACTLY how MY drive is working, and I know it doesn't have any sleeping mode...I use this drive since the beginning of the wii hack, I played a lot of wii and gamecube games with various loaders/launchers like Dios Mios, Devolution, Nintendont, wiiflow, usbloader gx under various IOS (58, 249, etc.), and even more with interpreters/emulators (like scummvm, which needs a lot of data streaming and can be really picky with hard drives), and also with emuNAND, SNEEK, UNEEK. I chose my drive exactly to AVOID any sleeping mode.

To be clear : All rev BEFORE USB changes are WORKING PERFECTLY (since the very beginning of Nintendont), all rev AFTER USB changes are crashing (and it doesn't seem to be random crashes, at least under Smash Bros Melee)

FIX94 : Thanks a lot for your test builds. I will not be able to try it until monday afternoon (not at home), but I'll report my results ASAP.

FIX94

T9 and T10 work fine with my HDD that used to freeze at "Init DI...". So it seems the Bug you fixed fixes that problem. Now I'll test my drive that freezes at Init USB device.

The other drive always gives me "No FAT device found etc.". This was normally solved be replugging the drive but I replugged five times and always get this message. As I said, before the drive at least got into the menu and then freezes at "Init devices" or something. The drive works perfectly in WiiXplorer.

I ran into the same problem with Melee (both vanilla 1.2 and the 20XX hack pack) in the post-2.296 versions of Nintendont. It freezes after the same time interval whether it was launched from my 64GB SD card or my 1TB HDD, both of which worked fine in 2.295. I'll try out the test builds and future updates to see if they work better.

how about you try the version I _just_ posted?

Yeah sure. How about when I have time.

I'll try it out later tonight. (7:17 pm at the moment)

Edit:

Kicked everyone off the wii to test it lol.

From my test it was fine. I did about 4 stages of Melee Classic no freeze. Also, I completed two races on Kirby Air Ride no freeze.

Werks 4 me

And lastly, I didn't try the version with re-enabled HID support, since I was in a rush.

obvious question is obvious but just to be clear, does the wiimote+Nunchuck act as an actual gamecube controller? I just checked the thread after quite some time and I am really impressed for the comparability but I didn't know nintendont was gonna support wii remotes.

The opening post says everything.

Check it for how to get the Wii remote + nunchuk working
