The only way that could be impleented is with a custom backgroubd image option in which you can put a PNG image in the folder and that will be your background.
They cannot use that exact image (or anything related to the GClogo) due to copyright, only way is by letting the user use their own BG image and the legal issues may be their problem. :P

Also, don't forget that mod does not show the bootup messages which might be needed.

The video was more showing off the loading bar then the background image

It was precompiled in the mod thread, I didn't choose any of it.

Version 2.247 is up

-Added Donkey Kong Bongo support to the gamecube adapter for wii u

The bongos work for some and not for others.
I need a bigger test base to track down the problem.
If you try it working or not report your results. be as detailed as possable. include version, wii or wiiu, game, working or what isnt working

New Update:
My Nintendont Mod now uses works in the following manner:
you have to place either NinBackLight.png or NinBackDark.png in the boot.dol or loader dol folder
then you get 3 cases:
1. no NinBackLight.png or NinBackDark.png >> Nintendont boots normally using default background
2. NinBackDark.png is found >> Nintendont will hide all text and loads that background with a silver loading progress bar
3. NinBackLight.png is found or both files found >> Nintendont will hide all text and loads that background with a custom purple loading progress bar

In case B is pressed during autoboot, the default theme gets loaded automatically
Also the default background will load when launched from HBC with autoboot off

:)

Quick question for you folks, when using USB Loader GX in conjunction with nintendont, I get bored to the nintendont loader screen when I select a game.

Is there a way to have the game boot through nintendont when selected?

Nintendont v. 247
WiiU
Gcn Games booting from SD.

Did you see the video I posted a few above your post? using usb loader gx will be exactly like that except you will see the verbose wording instead.

Because this had good bug reporting (exact version that broke it, and my checkin broke it), this is what I was going to look at next anyway. It wasn't the PSO hack removal that broke it (though I was surprised it was using it). I hacked in something temporarily to make it run, but it needs further investigation to determine the underlying cause. I probably won't do this, at least for a while.
v2.246
-Hack for 007 Nightfire for cache invalidation. Needs further investigation.

The Datel updates were because I wanted to get the AGP disc working. I'm much less interested in getting Action Replay to work. It would probably fight with Nintendont. It does boot with current Nintendont, until it asks for its special memory card.

If anyone is looking to rip their own discs for either of these, see this:

so it was the bad cache invalidation that brooke it? its really wierd i always tough it was the pso pathces since they applyed to it for some reason im guessing we were lucky getting that level to work with a broken cache thing, some games sure are wierd thanks for the temporary fix.

Wow so many updates since last night, also Frogger Ancient Shadows and Mario Kart Arcade GP2 now work? Sweet, only thing left is both *ahem* Sonic games*ahem* and my whole collection should be working with Nintendont, I wonder if save support can be added to Triforce games but I don't mind having to start over as long as MKAGP2 is working that's the only game I care for in the list!

brb, time for an update...

I want to report on the Baten Kaitos music issue, since it has changed in behaviour since going from revision 2.229 to 2.230.

Version 2.229 and before:
  • The title screen music will start playing in the middle and will eventually start to overlap itself
  • All other music will randomly stop, restart, skip and overlap
  • During battle, the music will stop more often and for longer periods
  • In fact, the battle music (almost?) always cuts out at the same point after the first 10-12 seconds
  • However, as long as any music is playing, it is almost always the correct track

Version 2.230 and after:
  • The title screen music will start normally, but still eventually skip and overlap itself
  • The music still skips randomly (arguably worse then before), but never stops or overlaps
  • When changing areas, often the music that was supposed to play in the previous area starts to play or continues. If that happens, after 10-15 seconds, the correct music will start to play.
  • This also affects the battle music at the start of the battle, but when the battle music starts playing, it doesn't stop anymore, just skip randomly.
The issues are basically the same in both Baten Kaitos games, the issues are a bit worse in the second game, that sometimes just doesn't play any music at all for long periods, even on 2.230 and after.

On 2.229 and before, both games randomly crashed rarely, which I guess is related to the music bug because it always happened in the music menu while manually selecting another music file or during other music transitions. I didn't test for long enough with 2.230 and after so I can't say if the crashes are gone or not.

On another note, version 2.243 has broken the disc change in both games (short freeze followed by "an error has occurred"). Was working fine up until 2.242. However, booting from the second disc works, and the games save at the disc change point, so that's an inconvenience at worst.

All of this was tested on a PAL Wii U with a PAL Baten Kaitos and a NTSC-U Baten Kaitos Origins. From earlier testing I can say that the music issue is independent of the image type or alignment, but maybe the disc change error is related to me using shrunken images. Have not yet tested this with 1:1 images.

all the error has ocurred messages were fixed on 245 fix forgot to do some checks here and there but yeah you shouldnt have that issue ever on 245+ the music however its another issue.

some games still have audio issues
smuglers run and beyblade battle torunament all their sound is garbled and aparently those baiten kaitos games the musics keep appearing and cutting off randomly.

I just tested again with the current version (2.247) and I still get "an error has occurred" with both Baten Kaitos games.

Hi all,

I'm experiencing this issue with all my games loading properly on the latest revision (r245), and since I reverted back to r228, the games load properly again.
The Nintendont app resides on my SD card, the games are saved on a 32GB USB drive from hp (I'll include hardware id info in the attached screenshot). I really appreciate the solid support and stability this project has.
Keep up the great work!View attachment 12608
Same USB Drive, Same problem, Fix reverted the fatFS change in the last revs, it should work again. I'll test and report the results

Hey Adeka,

I figured that's how it's supposed to work except the reason I asked is because it doesn't.

When I select a game in USB Loader GX (1233) it takes me to the nintendont main screen where I select SD or USB then I have to select the game to boot it.

Is there a specific setting I need to enable?

Thanks
