@ Howard, I'll post your info in a few. Not near my Wii U right now.

@ Rican, I think something bigger than my Nintendont / HDD setup is going on as even the HBC refuses to show apps that are on a USB stick. I wonder if I'm having a IOS issue.

Good to hear some possible resolution, keep up posted! I just wanted to clarify as well with my idea of a blank MC first...create a blank MC, add it to your HDD before nintendont creates one or the game tries to format it

I think I have over 150 games (maybe around 200 I forgot) I don't wanna be rude I was thinking if not make a compromise I'd like at least to figure out how to change it myself for my own personal use, but yeah what I want is to either make it so that up/down go double the speed or retain the old method and make it so pressing L/R changes the screen, I don't know why but the way changing the screen looks so odd for me I can't tell where the marker is and using up/down is very slow!

From the first post:
When advancing a page at a time the marker is eather on the first or the last entry on the page. The intent is to advance a page at a time until you get to the correct page then move the marker 1 game at a time until you are on the game you want.
When someone has a 500 game list having them spend 35 seconds to scrool at 2x speed seems unreasonable.
I would like to hear some other opinions. What do those of you with big game lists think? Leave it as is, only enable paging if more than some number of games, put it back 2x was fast enough.

Since you brought up scrolling through the loader faster I have an idea.

Pressing 1 on the Wii remote makes Nintendont go to the very first game on the list. You can then press d-pad up on the Wii remote to go to the last game on the list (we can currently do this part) . Great for people who want to get to a game when the last game you played was in the middle of the list

My issue is that the marker moves too slow, I don't mind the page scroll if the marker was sped up!

Anyone Herr knows which IOS is used to allow the HBC to read USB sticks in vWii?

Dont mess with installing Ios below slot 200. Nintendont just use ios 58 to run (already installed from factory on Wii U's).

Try to use a small usb stick a 2gb one. Put a game and check if it will work. This will eliminate the possibility of the culprit being the IOS.

Also post the cfg log that howard asked you when your are near to your wii u.

Does wii games run fine through usb loaders, or they also give errors?

oh I might mention here that nintendont itself (the kernel which runs ingame) is not using ios58 for the usb module but its using a custom module right now which doesnt have the same compatibility as ios58 itself.

Howard I like page scrolling the way u have it, if it went up and down the list a bit faster it would be a plus. Alternatively u can can keep scrolling one game at a time as up/down, skip 10 or so games within the same page to left/right and change pages with L/R.

OK, as requested

I couldn't be more certain my image is good, and it isn't trimmed.

Also, we have HDD users also experiencing the lockups, so it seems not to be speed-related.

Haven't tried the 59 block trick yet, but am not optimistic based on the issues report...

I know it's not totally relevant, but if anyone is struggling to play the game and is tired of trouble-shooting (how many old PC games have I spent hours fixing only to find out I'm sick of the game before I even manage to play it?), DML is not totally obsolete. It seems to run this game flawlessly.

It is strange how this one (somewhat high profile) game has always been problematic with Nintendon't. What is even more wierd is how some people seem to have it working and most don't. Those with any sucess do seem to claim using 59 block VM with new save.

I have never used DML because I think it uses same mios as GC disk setup. Which I use on my old Wii and it runs multi-game discs wonderfully. Not sure if U can use DML on vWii?

Totally agree on the old game thing.....I have been trying to get KOTOR running on my laptop as I loved that game on xbox and played it twice. It launchs but bombs after lucas arts splash which was a know problem, anyhow I went and booted it on my old xbox and was like OK I am probably not going to play this again. Some games do seem to hold up better than others and I find I do a lot of retro gaming on handheld and find it a better format. I love playing old psx rpg and platform games on psp/vita but would never touch them on the big screen. I truly amazed at how good the GC classics hold up and look almost HD......Nintendo shoud have had GC on VC already.

True, it has been proven possible since a while now... But I really prefer this way. Using nintendont is simplier, and FREE ! If Nintendo is going to make VC gamecube, that would cost a full game price, for (surely) a small game library. Nintendont is better this way :)

Yeah I pretty much agree as I have already purchased and still own most of the greats so hate the though of paying again, but there is one caveat and that is offTv......imagine if we could use gamepad (thru VC or Ninedont/devo) to play cube games. If Nintendo can/will give us gamepad as a classic pro in vWii I would be out of my mind. Then all that VC, Wiiware, GC, and greats like xeno and 007 could be played offTV......

I didn't read the conversation from the beginning but it seems you're taking about conveniently scrolling through a list of Games.

If I may, only if I'm in the right subject, Why not do alphabetical skip? A specific button (D-Pad right or ledt) would scroll to the first game of each alphabetical letter then you can narrow I down with D-Pad up and down.

Does that make sense?

I've seen this system used on emulators for example like nes snes and it works really well. You can also add trigger scroll which would scroll at a much faster rate than D-Pad up/down for those letters that have many games (i.e: "S" on Snes)

Hope it helps

This.

And licensed games are doomed. Heh, I'm still waiting for Genesis titles to hit Wii U VC.

Just give in and use Genesis Plus GX on Wii, definitely one of the best emulators for Genesis/Megadrive :D

Can you post some diagnostic info for me?
Start up CFG
click settings
click system
What is listed as the device?
What is listed as the partition?
click on the partition
what are EVERY character on every line of the partition table? make sure to include EVERY partition even if its unused or uninetlagable.
Dont change anything on that screen. Press B to back out of that screen. I dont want you to mess up anything you have working.

Did you get a chance to see my previous post?

A rare example of when an emulator initially designed to run on consoles (NGC and Wii) goes on to become the most accurate, highest regarded emulator for its target platform on the PC. And by rare, I mean so rare that it had never happened before and it will never happen again :P It's a great emulator, both its .dol form and libretro core.

I am wonderin if somehow with a custom version Nintendont and/or or a channel forwarder.wad if there would be a way to make a 'last game' Ninendont.....this way we could quick launch the last game we played from the Wii menu. Wouldn't that be useful?

Also is there a way to get Nintendont to keep seperate config settings for each game? It seems any change I make is global.

It's an extremely well optimized emulator for sure. The only way you can play this on PC is via RetroArch, very accurate and runs full speed too! :D
