Hm, autobooting Nintendont is broken in postLoader too..guess it's time to update it to the new version 3 config format and see if that helps. Edit: That did the trick. Version 2 configs don't seem to be loaded/recognized anymore.

More on-topic, it's nice to see this program continue growing week by week. Thanks again.

I actually tried to make it backwards compatible, but I missed the check on the file size after a read. If it's important I could fix it, but it's probably just as well to move to the new format.

It's not really important, just a minor thing. I intended on updating to the new config at some point, and the larger memory card sizes seem like a good enough reason to. postLoader has some nice code in it for using 16MByte emulated memory cards (thanks to having Devolution support, also giving one more reason to eventually remove legacy DIOS MIOS support, yay), so I can likely just reuse that system and force 16MB memory cards if the user decides to go with having larger memory card sizes. :yaysp:

Is this (FAT32 with 32k/cluster or less) still the optimal settings for Nintendont?
Else please post me the best settings.
Just got a new 1TB USB HDD and want to do it right.
Will be upgrading from my 500 GB USB HDD, which had 3 partitions (WBFS / FAT32 / NTFS)
...since this is not optimal for Nintendont, and since WBFS can now be ran from a FAT32,
I am making this new drive one FAT32 partition.

Thanks in advance for any helpful replies!

PS: What is a good program to format my drive with?
Windows 7 doesn't seem to support FAT32 anymore, only exFAT.

PSS: Wii Backup Manager build 78 will allow me to format.
Does Nintendont support 64 cluster (think I read that somewhere) and is there any benefit from this over 32?

Brilliant work guys!

Any news on a little homebrew program to download & install the latest updates of Nintendont? Is there anyone else here who'd be able to do it, if FIX is too busy fixin' things? :)

If you don't mind using loadergx (from Cyan's signature) it has a nintendont update feature

PSS: Wii Backup Manager build 78 will allow me to format.

Not sure if there's any benefit but it should work fine anyways. As long as its fat/fat32 and the foder structure is fine, etc.

I don't know if it's possible to fix it but I would love to play phantasy star online ep 1&2 on my wii u :O the game also doesn't work in dios mios.

crediar posted a video of him playing mario kart gp 2 on Nintendont before triforce was officially added. Why doesn't this game work now? Couldn't the devs ask him for that source code so we can get it that specific triforce game fixed?

I'm having the ahbprot problem.
I downloaded loader.dol and renamed it to boot.dol.
I downloaded the meta.xml from this thread and placed meta.xml and boot.dol in \apps\nintendont\.
I checked that <ahb_access/> is present in the meta.xml.

What have I done wrong?

My meta.xml is:
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" standalone="yes"?>
<app version="1">
<name>Nintendont</name>
<coder>crediar, JoostinOnline</coder>
<version>r22</version>
<release_date>20131228000000</release_date>
<short_description>Gamecube Loader</short_description>
<long_description>Nintendont allows you to run GameCube games on a Wii or Wii U from an SD device.</long_description>
<ahb_access/>
</app>

I am using homebrew channel v1.0.8

ahb_access wasn't added until HBC v1.10, iirc. Try no_ios_reload (I think this is what it used to be) instead (or preferably, update the HBC instead), perhaps?

I will try updating. I didn't know there was a newer version, I have not used my Wii in over a year. The OP said it requires 1.0.7 or newer though.

Thanks for the reply.

You probably can use it with your current HBC, but it'd require editing the meta.xml file since ahb_access wasn't added until newer HBCs like I said. It'd be easier (well, this is subjective, but meh; in my opinion it's easier to just push a button or two and update straight away than to trudge through an XML file) to just update, and enjoy the bug fixes that the newer versions brought ( http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_Channel has a changelog, but I don't think it's complete; it's missing the wifi fix and a few others, iirc ).

Anyway, it should work no matter which route you pick.

so I worked on quite a few things, just uploaded a new version cause I think I did everything I wanted todo today.
-removed disc read speed limit
-pre-reading data when no cache is specified and the game wants to load something with the same data size, this highly reduces the time of animal crossing bootup for example
-added a proper patch for RADTimerRead, with the help of this patch games using Bink Video will play back videos properly (for example megaman collection and scaler)
-removed some unneeded code for the SI interrupt
-using a general ISO reading function which makes sure we dont seek unneeded, this increases general reading for slow HDDs
-slightly increased the sectors you can read from the HDD at once, this helps further to increase reading speed from HDD
Can you also apply this patch for my controller, please? :)

Ok, I am new to this. To use cheats for games, it says I need Sneek... What is that and how do I use it on Wii U? Also, what save format does Nintendont use? Another question, where is the Dolphin Memory Card Manager, is that something I need to download?

No disrespect but that's one of the funniest questions I've heard. Honestly don't expect real memory card support for a long time, if at all, as there is a list of things that take precedence prior to real MC support. Your best bet is just to transfer your saves in the format Nintendont supports. There are instructions on how it's done in the first post.

Naaahhhh, please don't get smart. The reason I don't write here often is because I read more and write less - but this doesn't mean I'm newbie. I've set up nintendont perfectly. Moreover, you should also read the "changes" in the source more often. You'd see there that bongos are almost supported with r131. So, why not memcards?

The reason I offered to donate memcards, is because I want nintendont to be perfect one day, with triforce, memcard support, audio streaming, original GC peripherals support etc.
