and i have a Wii U plugged the HDD in the top back slot and the controller in the bottom back. :P

I didn't say I skipped the AP for devolution. I said i'm using the same game rips I use for devolution in that video

why does nintendont keep giving me this message "fat device found or missing games dir!" what does this meann

SD or USB games may be on the root of your device; an example:

SD: /games/STARFOX ASSAULT [GF7E01]/game.iso
USB1: /games/Super Smash Bros. Melee [GALE01]/game.iso

why do i always

My usb games are on the root of my usb device i still get this message everytime i open nintendont
If you are using it for Wii U, you need a Y-USB cable; and make sure you plug the HDD with Y-USB Cable in the top back slot, the other with a usb extension in front one, and the "controller" in the bottom back slot.

it worked?

Are you using last revision? I had that problem when i was using r38, after updating it worked and now it finds the isos in the folder.

I said in my post that i used the back slot ;)

You mention using the back port for the HDD, what he meant was that the controller must also be connected to the back port because some people uses both back ports for the HDD (for power and data) and then try to use the controller in the front ports, which is not supported yet.

I'm not trying to be smartass with you. meta.xml is just the loader's info. Nintendont r38 uses SD Card, and i'm using USB version with r44, and everything loads perfectly; i think it's my game 'cause on Nintendont kernel looping, loading game... reboots the entire console... now, tested again with a borrowed original PS3 controller; ps3 controller.ini are the same :/

meta.xml include the app's description, BUT it can also include some other data that it needs/can use when it's loaded. Nintendont has an ahb_access tag, and LoaderGX uses no_ios_reload and some optional arguments as well. So my point is that you shouldn't say that file is not important "because it only has the app's description". If possible you should always have the meta.xml for your apps, just in case it needs it.

Now, if using a different controller didn't work, and you think it's because of the game, try downloading the iso in case your rip is the problem, and I think I mentioned in my post that you should use r38 IF you have a SD with enough space for the game, if you don't have one, then keep testing with the usb version. But if it doesn't work for you and don't have enough knowledge of programming to help the devs, then just do as me and wait until there's a version that works.

im pretty sure i updated it and still got the same results

Is your HDD formatted as FAT32? If it's an external HDD be sure that you're giving it enough power, as mentioned above you might need an Y-cable unless it came with its own source (I had to get me a SATA-USB bridge AC powered because the USB Powered case i had wasn't enough, and it gave the wii problems when trying to read/write to it)

Aside from that, I'm not sure what other solution to give, except maybe trying a different source, Flash Drive, SD, anything you can format as FAT32 and fit at least one game

Edit: I tried again, and it says:

Init HID Devices... (maybe this is the problem)
Nintendont kernel looping, loading game... *still rebooting...* u_u

but my controller.ini on HIDTest said: failed to open config. i feel i bought my third-party ps3 controller in vain, so i checked the .ini and are the same VID and PID and including all buttons... i'm beginning to think you're right... so, what should i do? :c

Did you disable the HID Device in Nintendont settings? I remember reading that it must be disabled in Wii U because it activates that by itself. If the app recognizes both controllers in the same way I'd imagine they should both work (I could be wrong though).

Are you only testing this with Double Dash?

and StarFox Assault. yea, deactivating HID, detects Init HID... Done!

but Nintendont Kernel looping, loading game *reboots the console*
Avoiding: apploader OK loading main.dol :c

an example of this video, but this are loading with configurable usb loader and loads perfect...

i do have an external hdd thats a western digital thats 1tb and 3.0/2.0 compatible so idk if its getting enough power or it needs a y-cable

I just re-read some previous pages, you mentioned this happening when you tested r39 and r38, which don't support USB. But with later revisions you had a black screen when loading the game, right? So which version are you using now?

I don't think loading from a loader or HBC makes a difference, as the loader.dol is the same, unless the loader uses a cIOS to run the app (which I doubt) instead of the Ios58.

At this point I'd suggest you wait until later revisions to see if the problem gets sorted out at some point, specially if you don't have any other games to test.

previously with SD card on r36, r38 and r39; and that's the same problem, no black screen, just reboots itself.

I meant that bit for marck, but you saved me the need to ask you if you had tried previous versions as well, and since you did, i repeat: you're better off waiting until further development is made.

I have no choice to wait another revisions, i'll have to wait greyrogue with good news :P
well, i do everything, HID PS3 controller worked successfully, i copied the iso and tried to compress with: DiscEx, GcReEx, DMTool, and copying, and renaming iso to game.iso (not game.iso.iso :rofl2:) but i have to wait :/

Damn, I just realized..
The controller.ini must be in the root of my USB and not the SD, since I am running my games from USB. -,-

Now to open up the HID Test and see if my controller works...
