Hacking Nintendont

I have noticed something weird with nintendont latest version. Simpsons Hit & Run NTSC will halt at the loading screen if run from nintendont loader, wiiflow or cfgloader and wii needs to be switched off and back on the game is not playable. But using the latest usbgx mod the game loads fine no halt on loading screen plus is totally playable. Proving it is not a problem with the iso.

I would consider it a usb loader issue if the game worked from the nintendont loader but as it doesn't but works from usbgx only. Does this mean the nintendont loader and wiiflow method of loading games with nintendont are becoming redundant. Will all game cube games have to be loaded with gX in future?

Has anyone else noticed similar issues with other games?

Good find. Maybe some filter on usbloader gx makes the game work... Very weird. Hope some dev look into it.
 
Yeah very strange. I've been going through the rest of my game library to see if other games do the same thing. So far only Simpsons H&R. Don't really bother me if just that game (not exactly an awesome game) it was more the strangeness that it would load through GX but not through nintendont loader.

Also checked the google code page and just noticed that nintendont will never support the GBA-Link cable. Is that a recent decision by the devs? Could have sworn it didn't say that last I checked. No Tingle Tuner or Four Swords true boo hoo.

Hmm still guess the Wii U can mess things up as it's being run in a virtual environment of some kind.
But hope it can be made to look identical to what Wii can produce.

As one thing i want from Wii U is HDMI, Digital Video and Audio, which sadly Wii doesn't have, Component is crystal clear yes but not noise free.
Audio is the worst part however, it's very bad when you listen to it with headphones, but on TV i guess it kinda blends away.

Well, for me 1080p and 720p upscales are better than the native 480p, of course native 720p will be better, but the 1080p produce more sharper games (and jagged too) with beautiful colors, for me playing in upscaled resolution it's better than play in native, but if you really want the native, you can use the original Wii cable, or setting the 480p in Wii U settings, I don't know if it will see exactly the same as Wii, but it will render and output the same resolution, hope it helps.

I don't know what type of cables you are using for your wii but for me I am using component cables and simpsons hit n run freezes for me on the (would you like to switch to progressive scan) screen. Doesn't even make it to any kind of loading screen for me.

Why does the game run through USB loader GX? But not with the nintendont loader. If it were the other way round I would prob not care. Its just the weirdness of it.

Its doing exactly the same thing on my WiiU as my Wii. My WiiU is HDMI my wii is component. Try loading it with the latest GX Mod. It was posted some pages back.

Yeah well i meant for recording purposes.
For Gaming on TV it all comes down to TV Scaler vs Console Scaler, and often the TV is crap, especially on LCD, and it also can make a blurry mess on movement more obvious.

Ok after checking what you said the game does in fact load up and work through usb loader gx :) 1 thing though, do not buy any clothes in the game, it will freeze up if you do so,otherwise the game is working.
 
How many people have gotten freezes on the NTSC version of Tales of Symphonia. I played it for around an hour and never had a single freeze.

Yes, Spyro, a hero's tail has been confirmed by some members that it will only works with USB Loader GX. While it appears to be fine on WiiU (it works perfectly via Nintendont loader for me)
 
So i heard about the gxmod booting some problematic games and i tough i would go for it and guess what its true lol

On my original pal BC wii i couldnt boot
Batman begins(black screen)
Buffy chaos bleeds(black screen)
splinter cell(black screen after licence by nintendo)
splinter cell pandora tomorow(same as abode)

on usbloadergx mod on cyan signature all this games boot without any issue whatsoever for me now, im mind blowed lol i tough nintendont loader had more compat guess not.

Maybe asking Cyan about that might help fix those games in the normal Nintendont Loader.

I think there might be something related to the Video patches in USB Loader.
Have you guys tried to replicate the video forcing patch that USB-L uses in Nintendont?
That might gives us a clue so far as to why they are not booting in Nintendont by itself.

Remember, some users posted that some games only booted with certain settings enabled.

i tryed to force all video modes in batman begins and always black screen on boot
 
first, try older version of nintendont to see which one broke the compatibility.
Then, you can try to launch from USBLoaderGX (it's not a "mod", it's the official revision) but with Autoboot disabled. It will stop in nintendont and let you select the device and options. Verify that all the options are matchings the one sent from the loader and launch the same game. see if it works of not.

The difference between USBLoaderGX and other method is the way the settings are sent.
when using autoboot, the argsboot method is used, it's not writing the nincfg.bin file at all, the settings are in memory only.
When not using autoboot, it's not using argsboot and the loader will write the cfg file.

this was brooke long time ago for instance i cant boot up batman begins since like way before r80 or something last time i could boot it up was when nintendont was split in usb and sd, and all this time batman begins could be booted with usbloader gx damn how manny times i tryed that game with no avail.

i got your mod on my wii and everything works great except when i use the exit combo the games just freeze and dont exit to usbloadergx or homebrew channel it just freezes do i need to change something in the settings?
