So, I am trying to load Luigi's Mansion with r38 dol. Pressed A and I get "Loading patched kernel ...4". vWii because I don't have my wii anymore. Pic is in the spoiler. Luigi's Mansion is DSPv11. No matter what game I load, it freezes like the pic below.

From what I've learned, patched kernel 4 is a controller issue. make sure your controller.ini is set up correctly for the controller you are using.

0,1,5,8,10 and 11 dsp games should have working audio

He also said he will work on dspv4 soon
OK. I just tested Twilight Princess (PAL), which uses v8. The game works great and the sound effects are working. The problem is the backround music is in some areas missing (Link's House, The pond, where Ilya washes Epona) and in other areas I got constant bleeping (Ordon village). So I guess it isn't impemented completely accurate.

That's how most games are. They are missing sound in a few areas. It's not a big deal as long as 90% of the game has sound

someone can test the ntsc version and post the results

Does nintendon't support the wiimote+classic? The only usb controller I have is a gamestop 360 controller.

-1: Kernel failed to load
0: ES init failed
1: SD init failed
2: FAT init failed
3: CFG init failed
4: HID init failed
5: DI init failed

6: CARD init failed (It will wait here while creating a new memory card)

maybe the proper controller.ini is not on root, controller might not be on before selecting start game, or hid isn't set to on in settings by pressing 'B' on wiimote before starting a game ?

It would be nice if somebody translated asm code to C, so more developers can actually read the code and join in the fun?

If not possible, it would be nice if somebody added comments in important parts of the code that detail what is going on... so developers don't have to jump all over the place and figure out the code all the time

Documentation of the code was the first part of this project which is handled by Joostinonline, it was common sense since we want to make the code more developer friendly to begin with. It's to everyone's benefit.

I think the compatibility wiki defines most of my problems with MKDD. I can get the game to boot, it takes forever to get to title screen, then, even though my PS3 controller (works with other games) is shown as connected (with the controller.ini file and pressed PS button), it won't get past the screen with latiku. I will test F-Zero GX USA version today as I see it has not been tested. Just for reference, I am using the Wii, not the Wii U.

Super Mario Sunshine doesn't seem to work with memory card emulation. It tries to format the memory card, but this is never completed.

Check Sunshine with the revision it was shown to have successful mc emu

Also I don't have a single problem with double dash. Every problem in the notes I have never experienced with double dash. Has one of the best compatibilities on the list. It works better then Wind Waker does

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
