Hi,

I have 2 Wiis and have done an identical procedure on them. I have installed d2x v10 beta 52, base 56 in 249 and base 57 in 250. (following https://sites.google.com/site/completesg/backup-launchers/installation).

one wii now works perfectly - Loader GX detects the HDD, shows my games, and will launch gamecube games though Nintendont.
If I transfer the HDD and SD card to the other Wii, with the same cIOS installed, Loader GX works and shows the games on the HDD, but Nintendont won't detect the HDD at all.

Even if I load Nintendont by itself and select USB from the menu, it says there is no USB. This works fine on the other Wii.

The Wii that is having the issue is an older one, which I've had since launch, and have attemted mods on before (and possibly messed up). Does anyone have any ideas why Nintendon't won't see the HDD? We know the HDD is fine - it works in Loader GX and on the other Wii.

Thanks,
Matt

This seems to be suggesting downgrading IOS36. Is that a good plan? I'm not planning to play modified games from disk, so I don't need the Trucha bug. I don't want to mess with anything unnecessary.

possibly dumb question, but are you using the correct usb port on the wii in question? only one of the ports works for usb loading, unless they've changed that in recent years. I can't remember if it's the top or the bottom one because on a wii u it's the other way around, and that's got me confused about remembering which is which,,

Not a dumb question - it's a mistake I've made before. But no, I'm using the right port - it's the same one I use on the working wii. Additionally, the HDD is not the issue, as Loader GX detects it and runs wii games from it with no issue, even on the problematic Wii. It's only Nintendon't, and only on one Wii.

Run Pimp My Wii in problematic wii, and accept all default values for correction: https://mundowiihack.wordpress.com/2015/10/10/pimp-my-wii/
I've checked this out. It's suggesting a load of outdated and seemingly unnecessary hacks. I'd rather identify the issue and solve that than apply a huge number of changes which may cause more problems than they fix.

Usually, Pimp My Wii will update your hacks and you wont lose anything working. Default values are a good choice.

yep, that's the right attitude. You know, Pimp My Wii was referred to as Brick My Wii. It can brick your Wii if you don't know what you are doing.
Post a syscheck report of the problematic Wii - ios 58 is the number one suspect.
