I know. But I'm pretty sure they are officially licensed to make Nintendo accessories. Meaning Nintendo has to check and approve their products.this is a 3rd party adapter *derp*

Well Nintendo could have "integrated the squid accessory into the Switch" so you'd only need to plug a headset to the Switch and a phone to the Switch, instead of an accessory to the Switch and a phone to the accessory and a headset to the accessory.also how else would you mix voice chat into 1 source with game audio, this would only be useful if you play multiplayer out of the dock.

but you need your phone with you for manage your social party...Well Nintendo could have "integrated the squid accessory into the Switch" so you'd only need to plug a headset to the Switch and a phone to the Switch, instead of an accessory to the Switch and a phone to the accessory and a headset to the accessory.

Have the Switch have some kind of native party chat feature like literally every other gaming platform around this decade? Headphones output both game and chat, adjustable by separate volume levelsalso how else would you mix voice chat into 1 source with game audio, this would only be useful if you play multiplayer out of the dock.
Yeah, that would remain among the annoying things. But if Nintendo doesn't want to (or can't, whatever) put chat on the Switch, we can't avoid that. Even if not using their official accessories, you'd still have your phone (or "worse", a computer) next to you for that purpose. My post was just a way to remove the additional accessory.but you need your phone with you for manage your social party...

Great, now you cannot use voice chat with newer iphones.People complain about Apple removing the jack port, then people complain about Nintendo putting jack ports all over the place...
Get your shit right people...
JK, this is bullshit. Except maybe if they have the possibility to stick the squid adapter and the phone at the back of the Switch somehow, in which case it's still bullshit but at least it doesn't ruin portability too much.
How? Also the phone is going to have voice out cause you need to hear other players too.Well Nintendo could have "integrated the squid accessory into the Switch" so you'd only need to plug a headset to the Switch and a phone to the Switch, instead of an accessory to the Switch and a phone to the accessory and a headset to the accessory.

When I say "integrated", I mean, in the base Switch, not as in "you buy a Switch, then you buy the accessory and you integrate it into the Switch". So you Switch would have more hardware (no performance loss, basically the accessory's hardware), more jacks (to plug all your stuff), etc. How? Also the phone is going to have voice out cause you need to hear other players too.
And the chane voice chat cripple perfomance further using the switch considering wifi using too much resource for zelda to run properly?

I'm beginning to wonder if the mobile app will not only require access to the contacts stored on your phone, but if it may restrict voice chat to only the contacts on your phone.
It's the sort of bizarre thing Nintendo would do in the name of 'protecting the children'.
That requires a more premium audio chip that tegra x1 lacks. Maybe the refresh in 2020.When I say "integrated", I mean, in the base Switch, not as in "you buy a Switch, then you buy the accessory and you integrate it into the Switch". Probably, if it uses 3.5mm jackDo you think/know if will be possible to remove the microphone and use the headset also for music?

but the switch doesn't have a music playerDo you think/know if will be possible to remove the microphone and use the headset also for music?

Except it's the exact opposite. Apple hates audio jacks, Nintendo loves them juuust a bit too much. It's Apple all over again
