Hey guys i just bought a new nintendo switch game, animal crossing, after opening it and inserting in my switch it simply doesn't load up, i mean every other game is working fine so i just doesn't understand why this not, i tried cleaning the pins and they are in brand new condition
the game is used and the seller says that the game worked until he shipped to me

there's any fix ?
i'm on latest firmware, nintendo switch oled, there's any way i could check if the memory of the cartridge is broken ?

the error message is like this:

Is this stock or custom firmware ?

If it’s custom firmware you likely have no gc enabled which is a default setting in atmosphere for some stupid reason

it's a stock switch, without any chip, so it's clean

You might be being scammed with a non working cartridge.

Request a refund and buy it somewhere else.
i started requesting the refound but i tought if there would be any fix, anyway animal crossing is 39.99 in EU so i'm going to buy it officially in the eshop

You're better off buying a physical copy if you want to play it in years to come because who knows if Nintendo will make Switch games BC with the next Switch console.

If you buy it digitally, you don't really own it, it's more of a long-term rental and plenty of people are fine with it (I've bought several games on the PlayStation Store, but to be fair they're always on discount so I never pay the full price and get the most of them).

There is something amusing to be said here about buying a physical copy to ensure they have a functional way to play the game down the line... When the thread is on the topic of a physical copy being non-functional out of the box lol

I have 80ish carts myself and I have had one completely die in a similar way to what's been described here though. Wasn't mistreated at all, always kept in a case. Just popped it into the Switch one day and got a bunch of error messages saying it can't be read. I also have another game that was temperamental out of the box and would crash if the system was nudged too much with it in. The rest are entirely fine, but some just end up being duds.

Quality has gone down the toilet these days when a Switch cart is faulty, yet a NES, SNES, or Genesis cartridge still works perfectly.

Yeah, I know those old cartridges will eventually die, but collectors don't want to hear that either because they play it or lowers the value of their collection.

You have to expect some degree of fault regardless of how new it is to be fair. I'm sure there were some NES or SNES carts that didn't work out of the box either. It would be interesting to know how many Switch carts do fail though. It's really not something I see reported on much.

atm from what i heard nintendo is focusing on trying to keep all your data & games in one account for the continuity process, also is useless to force users to pay again for a game that came out 1-2gen before, nintendo will not earn any money from them, is better for nintendo and for us let us play with our games that we already have since we would buy the new games for sure (in digital i mean
)

consider that the new cartridges are simply a nand / sd, so they will break in a certain amount of time or after a long period of use, soo buy physical and digital have both pros and cons, i prefer physical
