Just checking in again after my post in this thread from 2 weeks ago - still not banned. Currently running .xci trimmed.xci .nsp. I am on SX OS 2.0, and 6.0. Not using any homebrew at all.
Still have access to eshop. Wonder when my luck will run out.
Are u updating the roms?
I am not updating through OFW or CFW rather using my pc to transfer update files to my switch and then using SX OS to install updates.
First, can you kindly refer back to the first post for a form to fill out so we know what caused your ban?So I was banned and I don't know why, I never used online hacks, only save editing. I'm on 6.0.0 and error 2124-4007.
Could I log in a new Switch with my account or is it also banned?
First, can you kindly refer back to the first post for a form to fill out so we know what caused your ban?
Secondly, the account is most likely not banned but we're unsure if Nintendo will ban any console associated with that account or not.
I'm reading the new emunand entry (superdukester), and I'm unsure how to interpret it.So I've just logged the first SX EmuNAND ban on the spreadsheet. However I think it is still too soon to say that EmuNAND caused this ban since its only been a day since it was released. But I will append users banned for using EmuNAND with "(EmuNAND)" next to their names.
Its the limitations of this rather simple questionnaire. If people would clarify what they did in the Additional Comments section, I'd better be able to interpret the results. Asking people whether they did X, Y, or Z in SysNAND or EmuNAND can get rather complicated (attach an E next to Y/N for EmuNAND and S for SysNAND?) and people may not remember doing what in where. However I'm all for giving people the benefit of the doubt as only people who know how to use EmuNAND would keep track of what they are doing and where.I'm reading the new emunand entry (superdukester), and I'm unsure how to interpret it.
They used XCIs, devmenu, and installed NSPs (marked as Y) in EmuNAND exclusively? Or did they do it in SysNAND BEFORE having used EmuNAND?
But anyway, it says they connected online with NSPs installed, so yeah, it's not conclusive.
I'm hoping to see someone with a "clean" SysNAND (except for the EMUNAND0 magic in boot1 and the nand00.bin and nand01.bin files) to start reporting their status, just so we can know if N's integrity checks in 6.0 can detect these changes, even without explicitly have coded looking for these changes specifically.
After some thought, I think "EmuNAND only" actions seems irrelevant since it SHOULD be a completely isolated environment from sysNAND.attach an E next to Y/N for EmuNAND and S for SysNAND?
Yeah I mean I had one user say yes to restoring a clean NAND before going online then proceed to tell me they installed DevMenu afterwards. This is also why I usually review answers before posting them. I think maybe I should rephrase the question to something like "Did you setup EmuNAND with a clean NAND beforehand?"After some thought, I think "EmuNAND only" actions seems irrelevant since it SHOULD be a completely isolated environment from sysNAND.
Maybe emuNAND users should be instructed to answer the questions based on their sysNAND activity only, and only have an emuNAND tag (which is what I think you are doing now). This is me assuming any activity in emuNAND can't be detected when going back to OFW in sysNAND.
This holds up imo unless they are reckless enough to go online while running in SX OS emuNAND, then all bets are off.
EDIT: I am making lots of assumptions here, such as the user knowing to keep emuNAND offline, and going online only in sysNAND. Which some users might not know to do
I'd offer an SX OS license but I'm a dirty cheapskate. As for your dirty Switch, I'd recommend performing a factory reset to get it as clean as possible (only a clean NAND can make it 100% clean) then setting up EmuNAND. But if you can get someone to donate a license, I'd recommend burning the fuses so we know its not a fuse mismatch that may have contributed to the ban. While I doubt Nintendo is checking the fuse count (Horizon does not conduct these checks as far as I know), its another variable I'd like eliminated.I'll make this offer.
I have four switches. Three with SX OS, one of which has been allowed online and doesn't have a 100% clean history (see above). But it is currently on 6.0, with AutoRCM, only six fuses, had xci files played online when on 5.1.0 (in SX OS) and even updated (in OFW), and I can still access eshop. The fourth is completely stock, only ran homebrew once to backup the NAND. So as far as Nintendo knows, it's only downloaded some free games from the eshop, played a bit of fortnite, had a couple of legit carts installed and briefly played (same carts I made the xci files from, and no I did not go online with both switches with the same game at the same time), and has been offline since just before 6.0 came out (it can connect to my wifi, but it's blocked via the router).
I'm really itching to try emunand, but am trying to hold out until 2.1 has been out about a day (just to make sure some horrible bug wasn't introduced). I think I can hold out about another week, at which point I'll probably dive in (I'd rather not, but I know my weaknesses). So, I'll offer up one switch to test. You guys pick which one.
If someone wants to donate an SX OS license, I'm willing to test it out on my virgin switch. Tell me exactly how you want me to install emunand. Do you want me to update to 6.0 first, create the emunand, then attempt to downgrade just emunand? Or perhaps create emunand while on 5.1.0, use official update to 6.0 on sysnand. AutoRCM or no? Blow fuses or no?
Or I can try the "dirty" switch that already has 6.0 on it, and that I already have an SX OS license for. Just tell me what you want me to try out, if no one else has already done it within a week, I'll volunteer to be the guinea pig.
I'm saving for an Oculus Go and art supplies so that's where my hopeful sale is going.
