    It's the logical thing to do. Sucks for a lot of people but I'm covered if I ever do decide to get one.

    I don't quite see why so many people had resorted to modchips for the Wii already. I mean, what is there to do other than pirating? I mean, it seems like a lot of good games won't be coming out for awhile so yeah. Anyway, I guess I just don't understand because I don't own a Wii yet.

    Well, you can also do GCN homebrew and not have to have a Gamecube, or change the case like you did with the Gamecube to fit DVDs.
    [EDIT]: You can also play imports by modding.
    ['NOTHER EDIT]: But yeah, the main use is piracy right now.

    True. Even if I chip one right now, there's not much games that I'd want to go through the bother of downloading 4gb and burning it. If only a homebrew appeared on it which is like Xbox Media Center then I'd want one.
