A group called 'EXPERiENCE' have reportedly cracked and leaked onto the web the official Nintendo DS emulator 'Ensata' version 1.4d.

Hopefully this helps the slow NDS homebrew and emulation scene some.

So.... even if we did somehow "acquire" it, does it still mean full speed emulation in the future? Someone made a point a while ago how DS emulation on the PC won't be as fun as on the actual DS. I find that kinda true. I'd hate to try and play Ouendan with my mouse and I certainly won't invest money in a graphics tablet.

To be honest it wont run shit. I heard on irc that Ensata checks for tags in Final version commercial games.
So it needs another crack to remove the commerical game check. Or a patcher to remove the final version tags from commerical games.

A Beta ROM should run fine on it, but there hasn´t been any beta dumps to my knowledge.

This is an update to the emu, the previous version was 1.3c afaik. I wouldn't expect to run much of anything in the way of commercial roms on it. Even if you could the experience would suck, you might as well buy an NDS. Though if you're designing for homebrew on NDS like games/emulators /applications etc. This should prove to be quite nice and improves development time several fold.

Considering Ensata runs a lot of hoembrew I'd be nice to have this emulator. Oh and AFAIK the only emulator that runs 100% of all DS roms is Ensata 2.0... sadly it hasn't been leaked yet.

Edit: yay rank up

This could easily be the previous version that's been reverse engineered. This is nothing IDA Pro, a resource editor, and a hex editor couldn't do.

Actually, EXPERiENCE would deserve even more props is such was the case.

This still doesn't quite interest me.

No, its the latest version. As i said in IRC, if you read the help files its clear why it doesnt run anything.

- NITRO_FINALROM versions of execution files will not run on ensata.

Man this emulator runs roms at 100 fps and above. Only problem is that on my machine I only get a white screen. Can someone help me out with how to fix.

From what I understand you need to register with nintendo to get the emulator to run. If someone could crack a fake username and password the NDS Emulation scene would cripple nintendo.

As already stated the reason it doesnt have very good compatibility is because it was made for DEBUG builds which are specially designed to work in ensata and most rom dumps are RELEASE builds which arent locked out in ensata its just that ensata doesnt emulate the ARM7 properly like other emulators do

@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
