Good thing M$ don't do this

I'm pretty sure they would if anyone ripped a game and was so open about doing it.

with all the coverage this is getting, he'll be on oprah and good morning australia soon enough. i wouldnt be surprised if some company has him in ads on tv soon enough. i think he can actually turn the fame of this into something that will help him pay off the fine.

look for him to write a book about the whole thing by summer. and there will be a movie by christmas.

If so, may I please have it?

EDIT:
Is this a link for the TV video?

if not, NVM.

When they raided his house they didn't find any porn involving small breasts or female ejaculation did they? Cos then he'd really be screwed.

As someone said, this could actually be positive for him.

Nintendo can buff and shine him as their "anti-piracy trophy", he can go on the interview circuit to earn some cash to pay off the debt, and for all we know people may hire him to be the big anti-piracy spokes person. He went from someone that hardly anyone knew, outside of a few people here and on other internet sites, to a relatively more public figure. Kinda funny how that works out, if it does.

He's now the most famous Temper out there!

Nintendo applied and was granted a search order by the Federal Court forcing Burt to disclose the whereabouts of all his computers, disks and electronic storage devices in November.

He was also ordered to allow access, including passwords, to his social networking sites, email accounts and websites.

be careful, they are watching us

I also think the fact this was settled out of court is very weird, after reading the article, a court would have noticed he didn't earn any money from this, that it was the first time he was doing this, etc... the 1.5 million bill seems to be a little over-exagerated in regard to the facts and since Nintendo forbidded him to comment the issue, I'm now wondering if this isn't just something made public to scare "wannabe" pirates and he's not going to pay that much in reality.

If he does make any money from this it will go straight into Nintendos pockets without reducing what he owes. This includes the pay-pal donations idea. The whole profits of crime stuff.

OJ didn't criminally kill his wife according to the courts, only found civily culpable.

EDIT: He won't be able to make money from a book about doing over sports memorabilia traders.
