Props to Rated-E Mods (original creator of this concept) for helping me out through the building process. I cant add links to his page because I'm a new member but please go check out his YouTube channel for tutorials!
So long story short, It's just a 3D printed switch dock that uses the already existing board from the switch, fitted inside a hollowed GC, attached to a controller adapter that's soldered onto the OEM GC board. If you got any questions just let me know!

"Dont worry, no working GameCubes were harmed during the making of this dock."

cn you still insert the GC disks?......but cool idea,, maybe you could use an old mamory card (or just 3d print a dummy one) and make 2 switch cart holders
Sadly no, the GC was gutted and the disk tray was glued shut with epoxy to make it easier to cut and sand. I was planning on making the memory card slots into extra usb ports but I had limited space to work with. I also was thinking about getting a busted GBA adapter to solve the issue but that's just more trouble than its worth. But I do love the idea of using the GC memory cards as storage spaces for the switch cartridges! Good idea!

It'd be pretty great if you 3D printed something the size and shape of a gamecube memory card, but with and indent/slot to hold a Switch cart (or maybe 2 if they could both fit). And then just connect them to the front of the Gamecube there and you have even more function for the form.

yeah that was just a joke XD, but yeah shouldn't be too hard to make a quick 3d printable dummy memory card slot for holding carts, but I guess a few hidden usb ports would be more functional

Looks neat, but i think, puting it in horizontaly was a mistake. The height of the switch schould be somewhere near the deepness of the CD tray.
So you could have used the traymechanics. But non the less, i like your mod. You definitly inspired me. Planing to get a GC Case now. ^^
