The release is on Good Friday? arent the shops closed then (they are here i think)

U.S. release, as already stated, is the 25th, which falls on a Tuesday. We'll likely see a dump either that day or the following Wednesday.

But if you were referring to the Japanese release, I'm pretty sure the majority of Japan doesn't care about Jesus Christ (no offense to believers). Don't think there are any Buddhist or Shinto holidays going on tomorrow, however.

Why are there two parts on the Japanese version? Both seem to be the same thing.

Well, this one's worth a purchase. So, if you've got a DS, I'd say buy it. I plan on it; I have to show my support for such a great game. Plus, I just want to own an official copy of the game with its manual and box. Sounds silly perhaps, but I can't help having a great appreciation for all the effort that went into making and promoting this game. It might not be perfect, but it has perhaps more love put into it than any other DS game I've played.

I cant wait for this game either, but i cant help but wonder on that copy protection that was mentioned by someone earlier in this topic... im considering getting the Japanese version and posting pics early so people can see them.

So many cheapskates here. It's not like it costs THAT much. Get a job. Mow the lawn (a real one) etc. etc.

i dont see whats so good about ninja gaiden dragon sword... played the japanese and honestly... i dont like it... what do yall mean graphics are good... holding ds sideways is kinda uncomfortable and... stylus for attacks doesnt seem right cuz it misreads some commands...

To each his own, I suppose. I will say this, though, the game requires finesse. The controls are straight forward, but mastering them takes practice, otherwise you will definitely find yourself commanding Ryu to do all sorts of things you didn't intend.

As for holding the DS book-style, I love it, especially for this type of game.

And if you don't understand why the graphics are good, well...I don't think there's anything anyone could say to make you see that they are. Perhaps not your cup of tea. But I'd have no hesitation in saying that it offers the best visuals the DS has yet seen. There are other games that can compete, but Team Ninja went above and beyond with this package.

I wouldn't go so far as to saying it's the best graphics the ds has seen, but the 3D characters on 2D backgrounds is a good style. I think Soma Bringer did a better job at that style, but Ninja Gaiden still looks excellent.

Some of the greatest games in history use 3D characters on 2D backgrounds, such as Resident Evil and Final Fantasy VII. It's a classic-yet-new style.

Well, considering the power of the DS, it's appropriate to use that approach on the system. Those games were both PS1 games, and the DS probably isn't too far off in terms of power and capabilities.

Nonetheless, Dragon Sword's art style is beautiful and fresh, and the direction is perfect. Everything comes together to make an amazing production package. Obviously, though, everyone has different tastes and expectations, but I find it to be probably the best-looking thing on the DS right now. And as a whole production-wise, I'd say it rivals anything Square Enix has done on the DS, as well.
