Hacking Ninja gaiden does not work

Just got a clean dump and it is not working. Tried all of the save sizes. Any tips?

I get a "cant read save error" Hmm...

I did a full format and reinstalled the firmware and menu. No dice. IVe tried the sett he save to auto and all of the other options. Is anyone else having this issue?

try editing the config file, turn 'soft reset' off and dldi patching

Upgraded to the new xmenu.dat. And it works now. So, it wasn't in my head
