Hacking Newly acquired 4.1 3ds

I just got a 4.1 3ds and i also have r4 deluxe but i read somewhere that the r4 is a clone of the gateway and that the clones have a chance of bricking so am i at risk for bricking if i use it?

if you use the 3.3b firmware you will be ok, but its pretty limited.....but better safe than sorry
dont use 3.1 - 3.2
