If you like 2D platformer Mario games and haven't played it before, I'd recommend it.
It's a neat platformer that's pretty fun to play either by yourself or with some friends. The mini-bosses and boss fights might be on the easy side (more so for someone who's played a lot of Mario games over the years), but the stages themselves and collecting all the star coins is where the real fun's at. There's the base game (NSMBU), a hard mode (NSLU; originally released as dlc and a standalone game on Wii U), and various challenge modes to keep you busy.
The price is pretty steep for most people (since it's a Wii U port), so if you're one of those that's put off by the price, I'd suggest waiting for it to go down.
