As I said above, it was gearing towards people who have not played the game. For people who have not played the game, why would they buy New Super Mario Bros. U if this has slightly more content and is cheaper? For people who have not played the game, they don't care for the price since they have never played it and is willing to pay 60 since New Super Mario Bros. U was 6 and they did not play that either. The price makes sense for who they were wishing to please.

I spent thousands of euros on Nintendo SW but this I consider pirating (+I'm sure I won't play it that much since I already completed it several times on the U). Big N should focus on new games instead of porting everything from the Wii U (which was such a big failure - but all the games are awesome and worth porting?). Furthermore the tiny graphical upgrade is totally ridiculous and for sure not worth the price of 6o EUR (!!)

Just because the populace does not feel any need to buy a system they aren't into, does not make the games on it trash. Sometimes people get things because it's popular and if the GOOD thing isn't popular, it will fall behind. But it does not make it bad. Look at Fortnite for example... Everyone plays that when they could be busy playing a good game... ._.

But ANYWAYS I appreciate the ports only because I had so many Wii U games but it just SO HAPPENED TO BE all of the ported ones I never owned... (Other than this one. xD But I never owned New Super Luigi U.)
I know I know... I was busy playing shitty Sonic Lost World instead of Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze... But I certainly did always want the games. (Other than Pokken Tournament. Wasn't super interested.) Although now I can play those games in better forms and on a better system, (Even though now I have a modded Wii U) it does not justify the fact that instead of getting Donkey Kong Country 6, we get 5... Again.

Either way, back on topic. Personally, I think the Wii U had awesome games. It's just the system itself didn't get as many buys. Everyone had a PS4. (Multiple at that. ._.) but hardly anyone I saw had Wii Us as often. Nintendo still cares about their games even when their system becomes what they consider obsolete. So it MAKES SENSE they port a lot of games from the Wii U to the Switch because many people did not give the Wii U games a chance because they did not give the Wii U itself a chance so they lost many buys on the Wii U GAMES because they did not get many buys on the Wii U itself. Now that I guess they got more attention on the Switch, they can use that attention and share it with the attention the Wii U failed to harness. If anything, they feel it is best to port games no one played for more people to play, than port games we all played and actually loved so much.

... And of course they want to make a little extra money on something they created long ago, but who's to blame them?

As for the price. Read what I said above. It was not geared toward people who have played the original. For someone who has not played the original, ANY small difference will make the first time experience better. And since the game ALONE WITHOUT THE WII U VERSION is worth 60, they are willing to spend that since they never played the game in the first place.

EDIT: as for the piracy thing. I'd rather spend like 9.99 or something for Wii U DLC to transform New Super Mario Bros. U into Deluxe. I should not be forced to pay 60 dollars for 10 dollars worth of extra content. (Not even bringing up Luigi U here.)
If you already have U, then I would say just go ahead and pirate this game since if you bought it for the new content, you were literally robbed.
Or sell that game and get this game? Either way, if they had DLC that makes the original into Deluxe (Along with releasing Deluxe on Switch) then they have a reason for people to not pirate this game. LOL But as of now, it's either you never played this game and bought the new one, or you bought the original and are getting robbed by buying this one. LOL

For me, I think it's worth the price.
It's 2D Mario, which is a blast, and if you've not already played NSMBU, it's a good port.
If you've already played it through, or are absolutely sick of the NSMB formula, it's definitely not worth $60.
But if you haven't, and don't mind the NSMB formula, I don't see why it's so bad.

It's not that the game is bad, but it's not worth the price.

They both have developers under their "first-party" tent, but of course everything that is released on XB1 also gets a PC release. Regardless, it's silly to pretend that Sony/MS don't have any control over the games they fund. They could definitely ask the devs to target 60 FPS, but they're both aware that would require toning down the graphics quality by a fair amount. That's the only reason they don't do it, to the average consumer it makes the consoles look more powerful than they actually are.

    Gambia, The
No other publisher would even try to sell a 2D platformer for 60€ these days and nintendo sells a port of a game that's over 5 years old with even less features.
Apart from that we in Europe not only got the "normal" release of the game that everyone talks about, but also a nintendo selects version which ALREADY included New Super Luigi U... for 30€... half the price of the Switch version.
These days you can even get the nintendo selects version of the game for less than 15€, which is less than 1/4th of the price! It's just sad at this point.
The port should not cost more than 20€! Or maybe if you count nintendo tax etc. 30€ but 60€ is far beyond greedy. There are even switch cartridges that you can get for below 20€!

That's true. They can request but it's not their PRIORITY to ensure certain things are done. Just their priority to fund what they consumers want. SONY doesn't really care if it is about shooting or it's a Dora game. If they bought the rights, they are just funding to ensure more is made. Especially for their systems exclusively. Let the developers figure out their creativity in the product and etc., is how SONY thinks. But yes. If the framerate is bad and SONY sees it, they will say "It looks like the consumer wants better framerate." and request it. But only if that is what their intentions are. SONY actually doesn't really care what the developers do as long as it fits a certain few of SONY'S criteria then bam.

I don't know WHERE you get this information from about 2D Platformers or whatever not being sold at a certain price.
If it was about how much content the game had, then New Super Mario Bros. U would never have dropped it's price. And New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe would be 10 dollars more.
But understand that is not how the economy is. It doesn't matter if your game is good or not.
    Also "Less" features? ?_?
Yes. Nintendo makes "Selects" versions of many of their games which is them making ugly box covers with the Selects border and a drop in price. Nintendo isn't necessarily being "GREEDY", it's just that they feel the game is worth 60 dollars, in which it certainly is (Since no one was complaining about the launch price of New Super Mario Bros. U when it came out.) but the only problem is that we have played the game before. But that doesn't CHANGE the game and make it less valuable. That just means we have no use for this game. It isn't necessarily GREEDY. Just them trying to give it a second chance on people playing it and them making their money they intended the first time.

You clearly don't know modern publishers very well. Took me all of two minutes to find multiple $60 platformers on the PSN store site.

Also I'm not sure what it is about platformers that you think would cause the MSRP to automatically be lowered. You're very wrong if you think a good platformer takes less time or work to develop than any other game.

    Everything that was said here.
Just as much effort and heart is put into any game no matter the style.
All of that plus the fact that the PRICE of games is not based on how much it costed to make (We'd be paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for a single triple A game.) or the TYPE of game or even how much effort was put into making the game. You must understand how these things work before you call it ridiculous. (@Technicmaster0)

Which puts you in a category with maybe 1% of Switch owners. Obviously Nintendo isn't going to cater to that 1% specifically. There are some WiiU ports that I still really want to see come to Switch. Mario Maker and the HD Zelda remakes in particular.

Forget Super Mario Maker if it's competing with Wind Waker HD! <3<3

Let's look at all of the ports:
    Tropical freeze
    Pokken
    Mario U
    Hyrule Warriors
    Breath of the Wild(??)

Of the ports I would want:
    Wind Waker HD
    3D World
    Fatal Frame V

I would easily replace Pokken and Hyrule Warriors for 2 of those. XD
But at least Tropical and Pokken I did not own previously and they ported those.

LOL I'm afraid your opinion isn't making much sense here: You have the option to play the game as if it doesn't exist. Removing it is just removing a feature we originally had a choice to use or not. If it is BAD, then how is removing something you don't have to use making the game any better?

I should have said anything else below 60 FPS. No it´s clear what I mean.:P No idea about 120 fps, I heard there are PC screens that refresh at 120 FPS.

I never said that any of the characters (besides Toadette) were new. Way to skim over things.
I was talking about the ability to play as anyone in this version of the game and not being locked to anyone in particular because of your player slot/mode.
Even the OP agreed on the correction I made about Nabbit, which obviously meant that he wasn't new at all.

They would have to change NSMB2 a lot for it to be able to work with 4 players, otherwise it would be even easier than it already was. The stages were all designed with 1-2 players in mind.
NSMB2 is known to be the easiest out of all the NSMB games and quite literally a cash grab. If they decided to pair it with either the DS or Wii games, it'd be worth the purchase.
