New Resident Evil Game in the Works?

While the undead are typically characterized as being cold & clammy -- not to mention their whole penchant for eating the living -- Capcom CEO Haruhiro Tsujimoto says he hopes to "heat up" the zombie-fueled Resident Evil game franchise to coincide with Resident Evil: Afterlife's arrival in theaters this fall.

"The 3D movie Resident Evil IV Afterlife starring Milla Jovovich is scheduled to hit theaters on September 10. Timed with the movie's release, we'd like to do something to heat up the game series," Tsujimoto told with Japanese business journal Nikkei BP. Whether that means a new game announcement, the release of a current RE title on a new platform or ... well, anything really wasn't specified. What we do know is that Tokyo Game Show 2010 will open a mere six days following the film on September 16, making it ideally timed for such a "hot" game announcement.

Never tried Resident evil before but i've been playing a lot of l4d and hl2 lately so i could go for another fun zombie shooter

yeah but i enjoy the third person shooters like resident evil and uncharted over fps but yeah sometimes they're fun but i dont like online multiplayer i like fps multiplayer when im sitting around with everyone im playing with.

Nope. Resident Evil 0, 1, 2, 3, Code Veronica, Outbreak 1 and 2 all have locked camera perspectives. Nothing remotely first person about them. I still really like and recommend them, though the controls will really take awhile to adjust to (and the story gets really contradictory after awhile).

P.S. - RE4 is awesome too, and is over-the shoulder 3rd person.

I loved RE4 and the RE5 demo (full game should arrive shortly) and Umbrella Chronicles was good too. I hope this is true; a new RE game would be great. Or maybe they want to make some more DLC for RE5. The would be nice as well.

Well there was still Resident Evil Portable for the PSP. Sony was meant to be funding it to keep Capcom from cancelling it but we've heard shit about it since E3.

I'd say its jumped to either PSP2 or 3DS.
