Hacking Hardware New Nintendo 3DS XL Louvre

Hello everyone, I bought this and I want to play some games on it. If I remove the microSD card which contains the audio guide the console gives this message:

microSD card is not inserted.

Can we make it run games and use it as a console?

Tell me more about this B9S to get a regular Firmware. What are the steps, for this console to play some homebrew apps or regular games, it doesn't have a regular firmware or even a firmware I think, the only thing that's working on it right now it's that audio/video guide which is on the microSD card.

I didn't see anyone doing a tutorial about playing games on this audio/video guide Nintendo console yet.

Why do you say it's rare console? It's such a big demand for something like this? People really like art so much?

It's rare because that 3DS was used as part of an exhibit in the louvre. It was never intended to go outside of the museum.

Can you boot the home menu on your 3DS? Or does it just boot to the louvre app?

Either way, I think the louvre 3DS you have is dev. You can easily dump the NAND and install b9s + normal retail firmware if you use a dev copy of ntrboot.

I only know of once louvre 3DS NAND and SD card backup. It is very important to preserve anything like this. Please please please make a clean dump of the NAND and SD card before installing b9s. I put guides for both below. Do the SD card one first.

• Run it. For "SOURCE", choose the SD card. For "TARGET" choose "FILE" and save it as "sd.img" on your computer. Save as type should be "raw image"

It boots to the Louvre app without a menu. If I remove the microSD card from it I receive this message

microSD card is not inserted. which hang on the bottom of the screen as picture shows.
I read about the NAND and I still don't get it. In order to install a Firmware I must dump the NAND and somehow the Firmware uses the NAND to install and without my unique NAND I can't run any firmware?
And for the flashcard, this New Nintendo 3DS XL Louvre version doesn't have a FLASH card slot. It only has microSD.

According to this website it seems that this unit requires a CTR Guide Boot cartridge to stop it from directly starting the Louvre app. The system software seems to be very minimal considering the fact that it only boot into the Louvre guide.
It also doesn't have speakers and lacks Wi-Fi support. I am actually not sure if it will work like a retail unit.
You should give it a go though. It's pretty interesting.

Yes, that's why I'm here to make it run some games and cool stuff. For the purpose of knowledge because nobody did this on display for showing it's possible. I'm waiting for @rvtr to take me step by step to this quest.

You could probably use NTRBoot to run SafeB9SInstaller and then use GodMode9 to dump the stock firmware (for preservation's sake) and CTRTransfer a regular firmware onto it.

GodMode9 can dump the NAND. To do any of this you're going to need a DS flashcart that supports NTRBoot.

I will make a research on GodMode9 but my 3DSXL doesn't read flashcarts as usual 3DSXL, it only has microSD port inside.

Does it not even have the slot? It doesn't matter if you can start them once the console is powered up. NTRBoot runs at well... boot.

@idonthave always to the NAND dump first. I have a guide for dumping the NAND in one of the spoilers for my previous response. That guide will also set up your flashcart to be able to hack it.

To anyone suggesting 3ds.hack.guide ntrboot guides, those are for retail consoles. This is a dev unit.

Also I was reading that the louvre 3DS has some plastic covering the cartridge slot. Try opening it up and getting the plastic out.

I'm sure it's possible, really doubt Nintendo would have made significant modifications to the hardware. The solder points for the speakers are probably still there, even. So the changes are probably mostly in software, which we have the means to do whatever we want to.

Just restore the NAND backup if you need to sell. Why let it rot unused on shelf for "value"?

Honestly most people would be paying for the hardware anyways. You can always install the louvre app on any 3DS (or just n3DS?).

How about the Wi-Fi board? Iirc the 3DS systems are known to be really picky if there's something wrong with Wi-fi board (like they won't boot at all). If there's no WiFi board at all, it wouldn't turn on with the retail firmware wouldn't it? Or was this a DSi thing?
