Kitarou was one of my favorite anime. It was great.

Btw, in Japanese, "kitarou" should be "onitarou".

Yeah, it was. I thought Kitarou's father was cool, the one eyeballed guy. So was a few of the other characters like the stone slab

I know why you think it's "Onitarou" but it isn't. "Oni" is the Kunyomi reading but in this case, it's a compound Kanji so it's read the Onyomi way. Run a search on it. You'll find it as "Kitarou"
