@At everybody:
Since there seems to be some interest in the James Bond game, it might be a good idea to check if you all have the same issues at the exact same spot.
And could somebody try to get savegames for PAL&NTSC-U that allow quick testing?
And could somebody try to find out what's suppoed to happen when you get the black screen?

I too have 007 Agent Under Fire lock up on a black screen. It was at the end of the car chase level after James Bond was presented with his new car.

I have cIOS38 rev17 installed, MIOS patched with WiiGators MIOS patcher based of MIOS v4, NeoGamma r9 b26, ISO burned to a 1:1 single ISO disc. NTSC version of the game on a USA Wii.

the second time I played it I noticed that just before it locked up, to a black screen at the same exact spot in the game, the skin tone of the the people and the fire of the car burning was colored blue.

Thanks for the detailed info, that's how i want it. Let me guess, you can't save before it happens, so if i had some test versios for you, you would need to play the level over and over? Do you have some weird random freezes?

No random freezing (yet), always locks to a black screen at the end of the cut scene. I cannot get to a point where I can save the game, I try just before the cut scene but just no option to do it. I will give beta27 and 28 a try.

Another game I was thinking of trying was Star Wars Clone Wars, never could get that one working either. On the compatibility list it shows as not working.

First about Star Wars Clone Wars:
Could you try this test version on it:
http://rapidshare.com/files/406298153/boot.dol
It should say something about high plugin when loading Star Wars Clone Wars. If it does, what issue exactly do you get with this and with the official NeoGamma?
And does it change anything if you set the reloader to forced instead of just enabling it?

About 007:
I would like to know why you don't get random freezes while Levente reports it. So did you burn a 1:1 copy or did you shrink it or did you put it on a multi game disc?
And maybe you want to play around with that savegame Riley found(or some other):

Right after the last cutscene of the second level it freezes. Right before the score tallying at the end of the level.I cant provide a save since i have an official nintnedo mem card so GCMM doesnt work

EDIT: I found a save that starts on the 2nd level on the gameshark site. I converted it too .gci from .gcs using Max Drive Save converter.

Link to save.

My image of 007 auf is 1,425,760. It's never been compressed, I right click on the image and select "burn with IMGburn", image burn opens and recognizes it is a GC image, so all the settings should be correct to burn the image, I select burn at 4x. As for random locking or freezing, I played the game 3 times and it locks to a black screen at the same point every time. I have yet to try b27 or b28, but will now and play with the save file. I use an aftermarket memory card.

Star Wars Clone Wars is recognized but does not boot. I get this error with r9 b26, all options of the rebooter (NO, Yes, Forced)

Loading backup disc...
Disc ID: GSXE64, Name: bla bla bla
Reloader Activated....
Failed to read DVD 313
ERROR 0x31100 Ready
MIOS is overwritten. Please Reboot (0x80830028)

When I use the test version of neogamma and set the rebooter to no or yes, the game attempts to boot, a loading screen is displayed, but freezes. When I set the rebooter to forced I get this

Loading backup disc...
Disc ID: GSXE64, Name: bla bla bla
Using high plugin....
Rebooter set to forced...
Failed to read DVD 321
ERROR 0x31100 Ready
MIOS is overwritten. Please Reboot (0x80830028)

I do not think I have a bad burn of the ISO, I am very seasoned in the burning of DVD media. I noticed that my image of SW:CW is compressed to 1,360,821 and is a .iso (iso because it was a gcm that was converted by multiISO creator), but I had another version of the image that was a .gcm file and it to was compressed, I renamed the .gcm image to an .iso, and now the image size is 1,425,760, odd that just renaming from .gcm to .iso will change the image size, IMGburn must have had something to do with that, but I never opened IMGburn when changing the file extention. I will run the fix on the image to see if the disc becomes readable.

I do remember last year, when I tried it, the game (SW:CW) would boot and then lock up at the loading screen, I had waninkoko's cMIOS rev3 installed, based of MIOS v8, and was using GCBL 0.1 Xi, on a multiISO disc.

A read error in NeoGamma itself "is not supposed to happen", seriously, either that's a media problem, or serious trouble. Is it a DVD+R without bitsetting? Did you ever get this with other games? If you get with any NeoGamma version with any setting to that game loading screen, i would say this read error is some random issue. You might also want to test this with Waninkoko's latest cMIOS(rev5), you just need to install it and set NeoGamma to GC mode MIOS.

If it's a random issue, you might only need to test the regular version and that special test version, both set to forced reloader as that has the highest compatiblity, but it's slower.

If you open the .iso/.gcm with GC-Tool(see 1st post), do you see any .dol, .elf or .tgc files? These indicate that the game is a "multi .dol game". Or do you see any .map files? These could be useful for disassembling.(which is something i can't, but knowing this doesn't hurt)

I will update the code for this error message to get more info from it. And ignore the MIOS error there, it's just trying to boot MIOS after a failed loading, which is something i'm going to change.

Just a Q about Neogamma...

This app has nothing to do with a mod chip, does it? I haven't used it but always thought it needed a cIOS/cMIOS to run.

A mate of mine is saying he has a Wiikey v2 and Neogamma could load games (without a cIOS) on 4.0/4.1 but now he is on 4.2, it blanks screens. Is this even possible?

Don't know what version he's using, sorry. I've linked him here and told him to use the latest version.

Tried r9 b29, 007 AUF, still freezes at a black screen in the same exact spot. this time I press the A button to skip the cut scene, but black screen is all I get. The colors are back to normal. I was able to create a user, but unable to save a game yet. I don't know what app to use to install a save game to the memory card, and is that save game you linked to for a NTSC ISO, or doesn't it matter?

On to the Star Wars title:

DVD -R is all I use for wii. Verbs or TYs are all I own. I posted that the SW:CW game did boot to a picture of the loading screen, a dvd was spinning for a second, and then locked up.

This unnamed test version of the loader is the only version that would display a loading screen, but you wanted it to work with the rebooter set to forced, which just gives an error. r9 b26 and b29 give this error no matter what I rebooter setting I use.

Just for a lol, I burned Star Wars CW to a DVD +RW and Neogamma doesn't even enter GC mode, gives a disc read error rather quickly.

I am going to hunt down my retail copy of Star Wars Clone Wars, and make me a new image, perhaps I corrupted it somehow. No use in continuing if I may have a corrupted image.

A retail disc of the game would be great. Then we would know if NeoGamma is able to boot the game at all or not. If the test version i gave you gets to the loading screen, that makes sense, but: neither the read error inside NeoGamma nor the fact that setting the reloader to forced changes anything while still inside NeoGamma doesn't make sense.

Wait for the next version that will tell more details about that error, and then test again with a new rip burned to high quality media(which you seem to have). About 007, no need to test with every version, i will tell you if i change something that could get it compatible.

He should get the latest NeoGamma, it crashes for him, because the old versions load IOS249 without checking if it's a stub. GC games are a problem when using a modchip, 1:1 copies should work fine, even with Ocarina, but multi game discs won't work at all, and i have no idea how to fix this. I don't know how to tell a modchip that the game starts at a certain sector on the disc.

So Neogamma can work without a cIOS and with a modchip?

Oh...

Yes, without a cIOS, it's basically a modded Gecko OS, and that works with modchips as well. It does also work without a cIOS and without modchip, but only for retail discs then.

So Phantasy Star 1+2 happens to be on the list of non-working games...out of all the possible disks..
*Sniff* This is so sad.

I know R8 Detects the disk, but I still get the black screen. There is no newer beta that plays it either?

I used to have a retail disk of it, but my dad broke it because my little brother was Addicted to it, lol.
The nearest retail from a Gam*stop is ...about 1000-3000miles away..
frown.gif

I don't think I'll have another chance of finding it on the swap-meet anymore. Xc

It currently not compatible, and i don't know why. It doesn't work with the regular plugin, because it does some stuff to 0x80001800. But this doesn't explain why it gets a read error with the high plugin. If you would have that retail disc, i would like to know if NeoGamma is at least able to boot that.

Good news, I had a bad image of Star Wars Clone Wars, must have been from being compressed. I re ripped my retail disc and the game works. It doesn't work with that unnamed version of Neogamma you posted, but it does work with r9 b26 and b29, and also works with WiiGators 0.2 backup launcher, I pressed B to launch the game. I played the first few minutes of the game, but will play more of it later.

The mode WiiGator's loader uses when you start a game by pressing B is exactly the mode NeoGamma doesn't support. But if it does work with NeoGamma with it's usual NeoGamma GC Backup Launcher screen, that's not an issue.

But i almost forgot about the patched MIOS boot mode, maybe i will look into it to at least test it against the currently not working games.

sorry for missing your post about testing the retail disc, my nephew has all my GC retail discs, I borrowed him and my disc for a while, then took him and my disc back to his house, not to worry, I'll get it back. I am very busy lately, and only logged in to post results.

But, I did check the compatibility list and Star Wars CW listed as not working, and it does indeed work with GCBL 0.2 and NeoGamma. BTW, I only tested with the B button because I tried that one first and it worked, I have only one forwarder installed, and it's for NeoGamma, and going into HBC gets kind of repetitive, and sometimes the loader don't boot either.

In my last post I think I changed the Force video to Wii, which made the game not boot with some tests, tests below were done with force video to Disc on all NeoGamma tests.

I just tested Star Wars CW "working" with all these loaders because they were on my SD card.

GCBL 0.2, pressed A to start
GCBL 0.1 Xi, pressed A to start

Neogamma r9 b26, rebooter set to NO, YES, Forced
Neogamma r9 b29, rebooter set to NO, YES, Forced
Neogamma r9 blub, rebooter set to NO, YES, Forced
All NeoGamma boots did load the NeoGamma GC backup launcher

This game "did not boot" with
USB Loader GX rev883, but was recognized
latest CFG v57b7, but was recognized
Gamma backup launcher 0.3, reboot to Wii menu
I did expect USB Loader GX to boot this disc, but not the other 2 loaders
