    Greetings tempers!

I've been looking around for a WiiU with an exploitable firmware since I'm tired of the waiting game.
I found a couple but I'm not sure what firmware they have since I didn't find their serials in the wiki page found here.

    Serials:
    FW4237XXXX
    FMH1000XXXX
    FW7115XXXX
    FW1126XXXX

I googled that and didn't see other relatable pages like the one above.

    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

The Xs are missing digits from the serial number. They're left out on purpose, but you can find the entire serial on your console.

The Xs are not important because when uncovered, they only represent a serial of one console, whereas the guide adds the Xs to imply that any console serial number starting with those characters is the correct one.

Those serials you provided will be useless for you, since you have no information on what firmware the console came with or which bundle it was included in.

I suggest buying a 5.3.2 Wii U since it has the most hacking possibilities as of now. You can do this by either:

    - buying a 5.3.2 Wii U bundle

    - buying a Wii U on any FW below 5.3.2 and using specific games to update your FW to 5.3.2

Games come with "update partitions", which basically tell your Wii U what firmware to update to if it's outdated. Some games have 5.3.2 update partitions, but for this, you must look for "The Definitive Guide for Wii U Hacking" :P

I deeply appreciate your comment but maybe I needed to clarify a bit more...

These are serials I found on units being sold in local stores.
I blanked the full serial on purpose since I don't know what one could do with them.

I'm asking if somebody could tell if these serials come with a 5.3.2 or lower firmware so I can buy any of them safely.
I checked the guide on this site and they weren't included

You'll never know what FW they come with until you actually buy them. :P

If the consoles came in bundles, maybe you can let someone know and maybe they can track it down/find someone who has the bundle. Nothing else you can do, really.

I'd honestly just order it online. It's much easier and safer to know what you're buying. :P

Where can I safely buy one with a compatible firmware?
I looked over eBay and nobody even mentions the fw.

That's pretty much why there's the bundle info next to the serials. You can try searching for a specific bundle with a specific FW by using this handy FW update documentation by Nintendo and then, you can take a look at the date the bundle was added to E-Bay or Amazon. If the dates are close enough, you'll see the connection and know you're buying the right thing. There's also the "game types" that specify if the game in the bundle came with a download code, disc or if the game was pre-installed.

There's lots of old stock in Australia if you're from there, just a heads up. :P

@lonemoonHD I also just noticed something that might very well be useful...
The "Nintendo™" date on the box is a very easy-to-spot clue.

Basically, all big companies trademark their name one year up from the one they produce a product.
So, any box that has the Nintendo™ of 2015 "should" be safe to buy (since FW version 5.3.2 was released in the 5th of December 2014 and the next update was on 2015).
Or, even safer, ANY unit with a 2014 one!

    Opinions?
