Hacking need help, bricked n3ds.

Hi,

I post this because one of my friend want me to help him to fix the bricked n3ds. He said it was given by his classmate who cannot reach anymore. Therefore, we don't know if this n3ds had any CFW or not before.

The symptom is every time when pressed the power button, the blue power light turns on and off in few seconds also has one single pop noise come from speaker. At beginning, my friends thought it was the battery problem, but after I plug charging cable result same.

I thought it might because the sd card don't have the boot file, and this console seems like one with CFW. So I put the Luma3DSv8.1 boot.firm into sd card. This time, power light turns on and off immediately in half a second also generate a LUMA folder in the sd card. I've tried other luma version nothing works.

I have a r4i flashcard with ntrboot I installed last time. I've tried from norboot but when I tried release all buttons I pressed the power light off immediately.

Is there anything I can do to fix this n3ds? Can anyone provide any solution? Thanks.

I also found there is one screw missing under the battery. But the rest screws seem haven't touched before. weird. The water damage detective label under battery shows few red dots, I think that is the original looking?

Sounds like a missing boot file. Have you tried the luma 7.0.5? The pop noise may be from a faulty or damaged flex cable.

Ive tried luma 7.0.5 with arm9loaderhax.bin file. Same happened.

Did you try the boot.firm for boot9strap 1.0 and/or 1.1? I forget which luma version supports it, but 1.1 won't work with a 1.2 boot.firm, iirc.

Ive tried luma 7.0.5 with arm9loaderhax.bin file. Same happened.

Try 1.1, as 7.0.5 doesn't support B9S which it seems like this console is using.

Hi all,
Thanks for all your helps. I just found out, after I tear it apart, I found 2 of the tiny cable connectors have broken. Therefore, it is the hardware problem not software.

I don't know how to fix that because it is so tiny. Maybe Ill leave it there as it is too difficult for me to fix.

You need to reseat your ribbon cables for your screen. Seen this before
