ROM Hack .NDS file format

Does anyone have a good document on the nds file format?
(wouldnt mind any sourcecode for getting icons and such either =)

There's one already I use called NDSCrc @ http://www.advanscene.com/

Also there's offline list. But their both a pain in the ass to set up if you have no idea what to do.
