Eshop is not available.... yet.... I am waiting on a shipment tomorrow of new 3ds 8.1 units, I am hoping that since they where -0 I might be able to get eshop working since the 9.1+ units had some stupid demo video pre loaded thus making eshop fail. You can still update with cia files and play online

Also the person making the eshop spoof is said to almost have a solid work around for this

I myself exchanged 4 times, searched around 2 months local stores and found none. Ans everytime I visited, there were very limited systems on shelves.

Yup, i'd suggest Ebay as well.

I've picked up 2 N3ds 9.0.0-20(U)s off ebay for retail or a little lower now.
Both new, just requires a bit of patience.

You can message sellers on ebay asking them to check the firmware and most of the time they will respond. Don't pay $300 for the "gateway-ready" systems.

I wouldn't spend over $200. Just be patient and keep asking eBay sellers for the firmware.

I just ordered another three SSB JPN xl for $210 shipped a piece, I have yet to find one with anything higher then 8.1 and if my theory is correct you need 8.1 for eshop. As soon as I get my 8.1 unit back from nand modding I will try
