Huge Disclamer this may cause possible bricks
To be safe try with hardmods
I am currently testing the the emunand and will start to release findings as I can

Alright guys I have currently got my n3ds to run rxtools on 10.3 EMUNAND (see attached image for proof) I am currently looking for testers to help me test to see what I have done can be recreated. Currently I am looking for people with unlinked EMUNANDs and with rxtools running and with a created nand backup from before setting up EMUNAND and with downgraded Nands but all is wanted for testing. Pm for more info and if you want to help me find out why this worked.

Yeah you need to post what you did here in the open forum.

I strongly suggest people NOT do this without a hardmod, emunand or not.

edit:

For the record, extensive testing as already been done and there are 4 or 5 system titles from 9.6+ that cannot be installed on a N3DS emunand without bricking the emunand. All but one of those brick the emunand because they actually require the updated NATIVE_FIRM to run, and the updated NATIVE_FIRM will brick the emunand because it cannot be decrypted.

No it's just for testing like mine is set up nothing is a requirement in reality I just want to test this
Wouldn't it be better if you give a step by step instructions on how you did it here instead of PM?
Just be sure to add a HUGE DISCLAIMER about the bricking risks, and that each user might want to have a NAND backup at hand.

Would it be like the 10.2 semi emunand only games or is it a full emunand

I think I fulfill all the requirements.
N3DS XL, sysNAND 9.0 (EU), unlinked emuNAND 9.5, I have a backup saying "new 3DS sysNAND 9.0" on my PC so I guess that was before setting up the emuNAND, I use rxTools...
The only thing I may not fulfill is the "downgraded NAND" part, because I didn't downgrade, it came on 9.0.

Also, there is a requirement you didn't mention but that is still probably required. I don't have a lot of time right now, I have to fly to Sweden for two exams and then I'll have time, after the 16th...
So I guess you'll have to use other beta testers if you're in a hurry.

It cannot be a full emunand. It is impossible to update NATIVE_FIRM without a blackscreen and the updated home menu and a handful of other titles require the updated NATIVE_FIRM.

For the record if you install the 10.2 semi-emunand that other user posted about a few months ago, do not expect any assistance with issues that pop up.

Wait, why is a hardmod needed for an emunand hack?

If hardmod isn't needed, sign me up! (USA non-XL N3DS, 9.2OFW downgraded from 10.3.0-28U and I can re-flash that back onto an SD card)

A hardmod shouldnt be needed if the testers make sure to update inside emunand.

Because he is doing something highly irregular, the hardmod is a personal suggestion I am giving just incase you attempt whatever crazy crap this guy did and its screws up your sysnand. (Shouldn't be possible without some serious user error, but still)

Oh, alright. Sign me up, then!

For the record, I STRONGLY SUGGEST that NO ONE PM this user. Whatever he did is bound to be highly irregular and needs to be discussed in the open forum where the experienced devs can see what is going on.

Not to mention that is very easy to replicate the image he posted by updating two system titles.

The hardmod is a safety net for if something might brick your SysNAND. Though, I'm not entirely sure how mucking about with the EmuNAND could end up bricking the SysNAND unless you have to modify it to get later firmware working on the EmuNAND.

New3DS user here with unlinked NANDs, NAND fw is 9.0.0, emuNAND 9.5 (running rxtools 3.0) , i have a NAND backup. Can i help?

Exactly. There is no telling what this guy is asking people to do in a PM, not to mention that most people with a downgraded N3DS are new users who are likely to make mistakes. Plus, why is he asking people to PM him rather than posting in the thread for all to see. All of these things worry me and are why I cautioned against doing it without a hardmod.

Pretty sure that's something similar to people downgrading and showing 9.2 while actually not successfully downgraded. You probably created some kind of Frankenfirm that shows 10.3 while actually not being 10.3 so unless you have current >9.5 games running without firmware spoof, I don't really believe you achieved anything noteworthy.

Yeah, I suggest the same.
My first thought was that he might have updated certain titles only and not a full FW update.
Best bet would be that he posts the steps here so that experienced users can give their feedback.

Until he proves that he can run games without spoof AND enter eShop w/o spoof too, I say dont risk it.
