Hacking My Wii Laser...Dead?

As of 2 days ago I have been getting disc read errors on neogamma with games that ALWAYS used to work

my wii doesn't even read legit disc. Is it true that running backups on your Wii will destroy your laser? It won't even read legit disc anymore

oh well, I guess it's time to invest in an external hard drive =x

Well I haven't heard about disc drives being completely damaged, but mine stopped reading Dual Layers (no SSBB

) a while after I started using disc loaders. It's probably just a factory mistake, though, for both of us.

Anyway, getting an HDD IS a good call! Specially if you partition it or use fat32, since you would be able to use it to store computer stuff and not only Wii games.

I used to have the EXACT same problem as you. Only GC games would work. I fixed it by buying a new DVD drive (for MPT, and also because it was in the days of needing any disc in the drive for USB)
