regioned free wads work yep........ tested

Brill, thanks..

So just to recap, to keep VC titles from a 3.2 with the shop IOS51 installed/ backup games with a modchip

Update HBC
Install cIOS36v8
Install IOS60 update, don't bother with IOS61 update.
Allow the wii to download 4.0 from nintendo

Should all be sorted?

Don't need to use waninkoko's 4.0 installer, or cios249 whatever that is?

Yep correct, but just so you know Cios249 is cIOS36v8, CIOS36v8 installs on wii as Cios249..............

@bob, are you Green?? from chat

Ok, alot has changed since I went to sleep...

I used method 1 last night and had no probs... still havent checked things.. kids are playing wii...

So using method 1, installing ios60 and patch it then update from nintendo...

What is going to be different than with winankoko's? I used to run backup loader but removed my drive when I got a flatmii, so I cant check that part of it till i put my drive back in.

So whats the diff with having the old ios's trucha signed or not?

thanks

It effects custom games like the custom guitar hero and stuff but IOS60 is trucha hacked for you using method 1 if it turns out you need truchad old ios just use the IOS downgrader, it's really easy.

The difference is minimal and shouldn't really affect you

Crap,, I do have custom guitar hero,, alot of them...

I have to go to work now but could you give me a breif explination of IOS downgrader?
I think I have done it before when I went back to 3.2? Is it the same thing?

Thanks

yep, you just get the IOSdowngrader (NOT CIOS Downgrader) from Waninkoko's site and run it, then all is well.

hi kongsnutz!
I have tried reading all the pages, but it's really too much!
so my question is:
I have 3.4 , cIOS36 rev8 installed, hbc, backup launcher gamma, softmii. The only .wad I installed is internet channel.
I'd like to upgrade, but there are too many guides and I can't decide which one is good for me.
can you advice me?
thank you!!!
Micky
p.s: great job!

My procedure has been this:
1) With HBC and cIOS rev08 installed i upgrade to firmware 4.0 from Nintendo system menu
2) then i have lanched this from HBC -> http://www.yafaze.com/wii/menu4.0hack.html
yes (with patch) to IOS60 and IOS61..no to Wiishop.
Perfect..my Wii now is homebrew/vc/wiiware/trucha/sd certified.
Excused my very bad English.

Fantastico......... another happy customer. Long live 4.0

My question is that if you delete the wiiware or vc games using system memory yes you can reinstall from sd but if you delete using wad manager you can not BUT when deleting using system memory it keeps the ticket on the wii so wont it eventually get full of memory??

full of memory from just tickets?

Nah man that would be like 200,000 tickets or more since all they are is txt files of like 1kb each.

WADManager will delete the ticket too. If you delete the ticket, the game cannot be loaded from the SD Menu. So, if you want to load from the SD Menu, you will have to delete, from the System Memory, using the Data Management menu.

The ticket is SMALL.
And is also the greatest useless fear..

He knew that "TIME" he was asking if the nand would get full from tickets being left from installing wads and then just deleting without wadmanager.

That would be 1 arse load of tickets.........i say SAFE

Ok I am on 3.2E (with the Oct ISO and shop fix). I have HBC installed. How do I know if I have cIOS rev08 installed ?

At step (2), above, did you do Method 1 OR Method 2 OR BOTH ?

Also, if I am not particularly interested in playing WiiWare/VC of an SD card but do want to make sure (a) all my homebrew, backups work and (b) I have all the latest IOSs for future games ... do I need to do this anyway ?
