Almost done with Alice in digital land. Had to adapt some quiz questions related to kanji readings, like I did in the "Quiz cottage" section.I've done some CG edits for Alice's Cottage II in the meantime. There are quite a lot of them...

After I finish Cottage 1, I'll have a big IRL workload to sort out for the month of June, so apart for proofreading/edits I don't think I'll work a lot on Cottage 2. Things will progress easier this summer.

After summer break, I begin a new job and I don't know if I'll have full responsibility of a class or just some other teacher's schedules to complete (which is more likely). I'm waiting for my assignment so I can't say for sure, but depending on the results, I might have to slow down quite a bit. So don't expect projects to stack up like this year (even short or easy ones ^^)

Thanks for reporting this one. Yep, there are some typos here and there, I spotted a few others while making the Digi-Land video. I'll probably make a small update to fix them at a point.

About 7% of Cottage 2 script is translated (the BGM section, as well as the information corner) + 10% of the localized CGs are done.

As a little side-project, I've converted the scripts for Rance 4.1 and 4.2 (they already were System 3-compatible) to the PC-98 usual text encoding format. They're both finished, but the hacking has yet to be done and Apharobo is currently busy working on another big project (that might please some of you there :)) so It'll have to wait a bit (plus, I'd like to optimize the formating and playtest everything to avoid overflowing menus or unexpected bugs)

After everything is done, I'll do Otome Senki, a nice AliceSoft dungeon crawler that happens to be a SFW game! I'll probably start working on it during 2025, as a lot of IRL stuff might get in the way this fall. Nevertheless, here is a small teaser:

Hello.
I apologize if I'm not posting this in the right page, but may I ask as to why Alice no Yakata has been translated to Alice's Cottage? Alice no Bessou or Alice's Cottage are, to my understanding, completely separate titles as they are snapshots of AliceNET sold in the userclub rather than being part of the Alice no Yakata series.

Referring to strictly the releases and not the terms used in specific games or the BBS, the Alice no Yakata games are compilations of mini-games and other thing such as BGM collections, cancelled project showcases, and more that involved the majority of Alicesoft staff contributing in a game or two, whereas Alice no Bessou or Alice's Cottage 9 and 10 contain archives of the website (while Alice no Bessou 9 includes both Otome Senki and Ningyo Tsutako and Alice no Bessou 10 includes Koi no Owari, they are games previously uploaded on the website for userclub members rather than new games created for the release). As such, I believe it might perhaps be better to name it as Alice's Mansion, following the translation of Alice no Yakata on official releases such as Rance 01 and Dohna Dohna

Seeing that the proper Alice's Cottage 9-10 compilations follow the 7 Alice's Mansion compilations (+ Alice 2010) and that the "Alice's Cottage" name is widely used on the english-speaking web, I chose to keep "Alice's Cottage" for the sake of clarity, as it's in a way the only "official" localization title we have. Plus the re-releases of the first volumes on other platforms that PC-98 also include some previously released games (such as "Intruder" and "Abunai Tengu Densetsu" on Yakata 1 for FM-Towns), so the series always were a mix of old, new and unreleased/revamped stuff.
That being said, as you can see on the screenshots (that are a bit old ^^), I had begun the project under the "Alice's Mansion" title before setting my mind on the current titling.
Truth is, chosing titles can be tricky or unsatisfying sometimes... The "Amy's Fantasies"/"Don't Call Me Amy" case ended up with me using the inaccurate, localized title because it was associated with the existing localization ; "Toushin Toshi" kept a Japanese title for the same reasons, although a translated title would have made more sense ; "Run Run Concerto" fails to keep the pun in the original title, etc...

Nope, got it from a Disc Station issue. It's actually the main character from "Tanukids". As the name may imply, it's a Tanuki dad, wearing a tie.
The bottle has an "alcohol" kanji on it, like on some traditional tanuki representations. Most of the time they have "eight" instead (because Tanukis have eight special traits supposed to bring good fortune - but it's still a bottle containing sake ^^)

Nice to see fandisks get some fan-TL attention. I find that a lot of those are never looked at. Granted, the content inside many may be considered throwaway fan stuff, but as you pointed out already these can also include minigames and even sequel content.

This might be my own grumbling that we never got any Tales of Fandom disks localized lol.

After watching a YouTuber who goes by the name of Basement Brothers, I have to concur that Metajo would be a dope title to have some attention to. It looks, frankly, nuts. There's so many SRPGs on the PC-98, many that remind me specifically of Langrisser for some reason.

The Rance IV port is now officially being worked on, thanks to RottenBlock's recent update of Sys0Decompiler. I'm focusing exclusively on this one for now.

Hello  Do you know if anyone is working on Madou Monogatari: Michikusa Ibun translation?

Thanks for the info! At some point I'm glad to hear that :)
A-R-S acts as a prologue to 1-2-3, while "Michikusa Ibun" acts as a link between the [Madou Monogatari] <=> [Puyo Puyo] series. So it's an important game for Lore.
As they have already translated 1-2-3, and they intend to translate A-R-S, then they will certainly translate Michikusa Ibun (Someday...) After all, it's on the same platform, and according to some synopses, it's shorter than the original Madou.

Yes, it was actually released in a Disc Station magazine issue so it's a short game. Let's hope it'll be worked on, then!
