Hacking My backup copies not reading now Wiikey

Got a Japan Wii with Wiikey1 with latest 1.99 firmware. While I was outside BBQ'ing, friend brought over the Karaoke Joysound Wii (Japan region), not sure if some update was applied, but now all my backups don't work

Is there any guides I could go through to figure what's wrong?

Are your backups from a diffrent region than your Wii ?
Wiikeys regionfree was blocked with Wii firmware 4.2

Both Japan and non-Japan region backup wont work.
