Dear friend

You are receiving this email because you have updated your information in our register and / or because you are one of our VIP clients.

Anyway, as we promise, follow good news, first hand!

MTX Switch RCM Dongle:
- compatible with MTX custom fw and other open source RCM fw / payloads.
- internal battery that lasts up to 2 years or ~ 4000 boots
- going into production soon

MTX custom fw can run from MTX dongle or from a PC without the need for a license (in other words, it is free and will not be connected to a specific dongle or console).

The first picture of the product is attached.

We will have more news coming soon!

A hug

Wait if it's an RCM dongle, why does it need a battery? And if it does actually need to have one, can it be recharged?

As far as I know the SX Pro have no battery at all. It's just capacitors that is loaded.

yeah, but the matrix one sounds like 2 years or 4000 boots and you are fucked
sx pro dont have such limits because you can load the dongle each time for some boots

Something that I still don't understand:
Why do these dongles, this one and SX OS one, need battery/capacitors in the first place?
Don't they get powered by the switch itself? Doesn't the Switch connection send power to the adapter? Or is the Switch not able to power the dongle up?

It's probably just a tiny 2302 battery or something that you can easly exchange.
I think the lifespan bit refers to the battery's expected lifecycle, e.g. when manufacturers say a battery will last up to X or Y full charges.
My guess is they're using a cheap, ~500mAh LiPo cell with a battery management IC to keep the dongle's long-term charge span reasonably long without sacrificing size.
The supercapacitors in TX's dongle are really quite fat compared to the rest of the device.

Why is this thread so silent? These are Major news for the Scene.
It also would be nice to have a official thread of the developer himself.

need to power up the dongle in order to send payload to switch.
sx pro dongle uses capacitor, it draws power from switch instead.
this one uses external battery.

I want a handheld gaming system with a tablet sized screen, like a 8 or10" screen, with controllers that can detach like the Switch.

I don't see the buzz about a square screen personally. I think there will be a review on the site within a few weeks though if you are interested.

I've put down the money on the Odin 2 Mini since I just love that Vita form factor. Loved the power of the Odin 2 but the size always put me off, this one seems exactly what I've been wanting.

All these things expecting to be super huge is overrated just run a type c cable to your TV if you want a big display or in my case screen mirror it
