Gateway may have started it all, but at some point there will probably be legit branches, this may be 1 of them. Of course they will all use same MSET hack, and same 4.1-4.5 Requirements, possibly even rip apart the launcher and add their own work, but Just like the GW team said themselves
"Imitation is the greatest form of flattery" Good timing on this, if all the existing clones wont be updateable, this comes onto the market at the right time, Could even be part of the "clones" team, just rebranding..

Also GW3D said they update their Firmware soon, so on this day we see who it worth or not? (They said all "clones" will be dead then?)

Gateway will use FAT32 as well, but they said they are working on exFAT support expected to be released after the final 2.0.
By the way, I'm 99% sure that every trimmed ROM in existence (even those of 4GB) can be stored under FAT32.

hi kyogre123, quick question as im confused as heck, games larger than 4gb even say bravely default which is just over i think wont playalong with multirom under fat32? which games are over 4gb? i cant see any really. bit worried now as i've ordered a 32gb micro card and don't want to be limited in the games i can play under multirom.

Don't worry about it. I just checked and the actual file size limit is exactly 4 GB (4,294,967,295 bytes), so I guess even if you don't trim the ROMs, they still could be stored on FAT32. By the way, you can use rom_tool to trim Bravely Default if you want; it will end up around 3.8GB if I remember correctly.

The only ROMs that seem we won't be able to trim are the CARD2 ones (Pokemon and Animal Crossing) since the save will be stored within the blank space of the ROM.

Trim big roms, I dont think any roms are actually bigger than fat32 limit, the ones on 4gig cards are bigger than 2gigs but max at about 3.6 gigs of data
The maximum possible size for a file on a FAT32 volume is 4 GiB minus 1 byte or 4,294,967,295 bytes
Bravely Default trims to 3,508,617,216 bytes

It can be easily got around by trimming, otherwise the 4gig roms wont fit (1 byte to big, 4,294,967,296 bytes) There are only 7 games that fit this profile.
All these releases work fine trimmed and trim down to well under the fat32 limit

Couldn't they rather easily get around this problem by splitting the roms into multiple files?

I'm sure that is a possibility, and seems quite simple in theory. For now we can just trim the roms to fit but if that changes in the future I am curious if they could be compressed to be just under the fats 4gb limit...

Is there any good reason why with a little work they couldn't support extra formats like NTSF or EXT?

Just though I would state my opinion

The button for me is pointless. I would like to store 10+ and pressing the button more than 10 times would just be tedious. I would much prefer a gui. (I know this card also features a gui)
