I recently heard about the MRA Hack for lite on drives and I want to use it on my 7000 series liteon cause I dont want to spend the money on a probe and I have failed to make a probe twice. I have seen a couple of different points to solder to, and I just want to know which one is the most reliable. And what steps to dump the drive.

First for probes have you tried the phone cable variation? http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?sho...;p=4484656&
You pretty much buy a phone cable with a serial port to USB adapter built (I suppose most USB to serial ports could work but most people just use phone cables) and and tack on a needle or something to reach the port on the TX (transmission) line. ebay seems to have them for next to nothing, amazon for a bit more and I dare say you can probably scrounge one up from an old phone you or a mate have sitting in a drawer.
I mention this as making a probe is about 10x easier than trying to repair after an MRA hack. Still is MRA is your wish I would suggest http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=698256 rather than the one cut pad101 bypass you might have seen. It is more cuts and soldering but it is going to be easier if you have no real experience in or tools for PCB repair.

Well I took my old female serial port connector from my last failed probe, and bought a new npn transistor and rebuilt the probe. At first I had the C and E terminals soldered to the opposite ports, after switching them I was able to successfully dump my Liteon DVD Key, twice of course to ensure they were the same.

However they say supposedly a full MRA dump is "safer" cause it does something with your original firmware in the ixtreme firmware and some other magic stuff.

If you are talking about laser calibration data it is just a factory hangover and as far as anyone is aware (it has been investigated).

If you mean barcode data then if you want to use it (again it is not essential or even necessary from what I understand) then you can type it in.

By and large MRA on 7 series or 8v1 liteon does nothing special for you. Full dumps of every variation exist these days so if you really wanted you could inject it back in. If the mods feel the need to remove so be it but http://www.xboxhacker.org/index.php?topic=14929.0

you can find the original file around, and can revert back to original. Just dont loose your key or you may have to dump it again. Also the current firmware is LT+ 1.1.

The calibration data you get from a full MRA dump is not important. The barcode data/serial number isn't either but it is recommended to enter them in manually.
