There are times in which game developers, when they have to localize RPGs to English, end up butchering the dialogues. Sometimes, they make such mistranslations or even strange phrases.
What games for DS you think are the most badly done in therms of translation? I'll already start with...
LUX-PAIN.

I hear Jake Hunter: Detective Chronicles is supposed to be pretty bad. That's the one they botched so badly they had to re-release it a year later.

If I stick to English and my baseline is 8 and 16 bit howlers then actually things are not bad on the DS. Not sure I have any, or have been asked to correct any in various ROM hacking sections. Sure you get the usual literal, liberal, pizza cats debate, and the times anime fans want all the transliteration because cool apparently or parity with other media.
The English translation of Phoenix Wright seemed to have a few typos in the Japanese edition but that is just typos.

Not English and it gets more fun, usually when some European translator does something for the North American market and those hundreds of years have done more damage to the language than Americans ever managed to English.

Never played Lux Pain. What was bad about it?

Do you remember Contact, that neat role-playing game that has two different graphic styles?
The Italian translation was very well-known for being machine-translated like, with sentences made up spontaneously and various names badly transliterated from English. In short, A COMPLETE MESS.
Fortunately an hacker nicknamed Mentz (or NetNor) retranslated the game back in 2008, using the European version where the original translation sits in. If it wasn't for him I would not have that game in my R4 already.

Spectral Force Genesis. It's like the text just was not edited, period. I'm pretty sure the whole thing was translated without context, then shoved directly into the game and released as-is, because it's a complete mess of disjointed non-sequiturs. I slogged through an entire story campaign and at no point had any idea what the plot was supposed to be.

Game kinda sucks, too.

Why calling it a badly done translation? Maybe it's unfinished (it's in Korean), but some real fans interested in seeing this game in English will completely translate it. I'm sure of that.
Dunno where to find that existing translation project.
