Hi all, complete newbie here, and as such, have quick question.
smile.gif

I currently have an unmodded Wii @ official fw 3.3 (U). I have no real issue with following the guide, looks simple enough and well written (great job !) but my question is this: Seeing as as I'm @ 3.3, is it recommended to follow the guide from the start to update to 4.2 and modify that, or should I just update to Official 4.3 via the normal Wii update and do the mod that way ? I have Super Smash Bros, so the game isn't an issue and I'm curious about games that require 4.3. If they require it, and if I have a softmodded Wii @ 4.2, will they still play ? Does it bypass that restriction.

Thanks for any help in advance and I hope the question is clear enough.
smile.gif

EDIT: I should add that ideally, I'd like to run my backup games from my USB drive.

Don't mean to double post, but I'm going through the install now, and during the Updating to 4.2 step where it says:

"It should say Selected 23 for installation.. press A to install."

It was 28 on my screen. I imagine that's right, and it probably needs to be updated, but I'd thought I'd point it out.

Wonderful guide, modded my Wii in minutes. Thank you!

Just one question, how do I run Everybody votes and Contest channels? I modded a virgin 4.2 and when I run these two channels, it wants to update.

You can try to grab the up42.zip file for your region, and install all the wads inside the other folder. If that doesn't work, start a new thread in this section
