doesn't even matter really as IOS202 support is being dropped in exchange for IOS58

Thanks. Just another question. I noticed the new 4xmod packs doesn't have cIOS 224 anymore, is it useless?

So I have a situation I would guess is pretty common. I have a wii that was running usb loader just fine. Then a young cousin stuck in super mario galaxy 2 and tried to launch it, clicked through everything and of course updated the system to 4.3. The homebrew channel is still there and functioning, the issue comes that the usb loader doesn't work. Can someone tell me which of these steps I need to do to make the usb loader work again?

Just follow the 4.3 guide in its entirety.

Practically useless, we had hermes v5 with a base of 57 for it, and we moved it to 202 (which any homebrew that has been updated in the last month now uses ios58 for usb, so it is essentially useless as well). 224 was only for RARE situations, when other ios's didn't work. But honestly, all you need is Wanin's 56 and 37 unless someone knows a game that doesn't work with one of those

But if there is (someone will set me straight), then you have hermes installed in 222 and 223

One question I guess it does come up a lot of time.

I've just bought a used Wii that already has the Homebrew Channel, but I don't know what cIOS it has installed and it's on 4.1U.

What would be the best procedure to get it up to date?

How new is the wii? Could have a d32 drive in it, which means no disc games period.

have you tried loading with neogamma? if yes, what error do you get?

-Erik

Edit: I'm not the most knowledgeable person with disc backups, perhaps a better place for a quick answer would be the neogamma thread in the backup loader section

ModMii isn't working for me, so I'm just going to ask here:

If I'm looking to re-mod my Wii, because I have a feeling it may fix some issues I'm having, is using this guide going to help in any way?

Keep in mind when I softmodded my Wii a while back, I used this guide. : /

Lots of Code-Dump errors, problems with the USB HDD (sometimes it wont read it), WiiMC is crashing a shit-load, stuff like that. I mentioned it before (a while back) and someone told me re-modding would help.

Ok, download up42.zip
copy it to the sd card
load up MMM inside hbc
go to load another IOS and choose to load ios236
go to wad manager
go to the "other" folder
install all the wads

This will get you on "normal" ios's below 200. Looks like you installed cioscorp/darkcorp at some point. Try that, and let us know

@SylverReZ find me ONE community that is free of drama and politics. even video games forums (like this one) have politics section. and for some reason gamers still take consoles/brands wars seriously. even as a kid i never took the console wars bait despite being a nintendo kid.
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
one of the reasons i deleted all my social media accounts, reddit account (although i was rarely using it) etc was to get away from this shit.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Vetusomaru, Sadly, not all communities like to play nice. Forums are pretty much dying despite Discord amongst other social media being available.
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
i only kept my twitter accounts and only because many of the artists i like share their art only/mostly at twitter.
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
lots of discord groups (even the big ones) are also dead for some reason.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Twitter is way too shittier.
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
that's why i added some firefox addons to block shit like twitter trends.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Discord, on the other hand, moderation tends to not be very nice in video game communities from what I had experienced.
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
nah, discord is also a shithole. discord is good only if you have your own community with your own rules. or if you re lucky to find some groups that arent shitholes.
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
as about forums, when i recently revisited some old forums i used to be regular and seeing how immature most members still are i was like "Yeap. Nothing of value has been lost.". Unfortunately it's the good, comfy forums that ended up dead or shut down, especially because of internet centralization.
