I have many years of experience tearing down electronics and rebuilding them but micro soldering is too much for me, so I went ahead and paid $190.. for a pre-modded board.
I installed the board easily and before i put the microsd card part and the rest back together i decided to try and power it to make sure thje screen would turn on. Right now all i get is the blueish flashing light for 30 seconds then Red LED.

What would be my next step here? As others have said the "eMMC DAT0 solder joint may be in poor connection" but I'm not sure the location of that. Also would I need the SD card inserted for it to turn the screen on? Does the board need to be updated? Any help is appreciated.

It wont let me post the Ali link

Seller Messaged me this "hello, in this case you need to flash the newest firmware frist , if you try to flash it but it still can not work , you need to use the multimeter to check the value of the cable connection. If the value is incorrect, the cable is loose and needs to be connected again"

Strange that a new board you bought preinstalled would need for ware updating to work.
Since they are selling it working out of box

You would need an SD card inserted to firmware update it if they didn't include the usb flex cable.
Which it also won't do if it's failing to glitch aka red light.
As is not needed to show screen.

You can test the resistance values with a multimeter from the hwfly points to ground

All the points are underneath flex cable and require it plugged it to go to related pinouts.
This be done turned off

Thanks for the reply ya I figured I needed to get past this red light before anything else. I definitely don't want to disconnect anything on the board, or remove the shielding for the money I paid. What are my odds they actually let me return it?

This was my reply to them "I do not understand why $200 USD doesn’t get me an updated motherboard that works when I plug it in? I will troubleshoot that tonight but I am not experienced with soldering or multi-meters. only disassembling and reassembling electronics. that’s why I paid $200…."

Have you got pics of the dat0 point? What readings are toy getting?

I looked up the location of the dat0 and saw it was by the OLeD screen flex cable. I tapped it firmly with my finger and was able to get the switch to boot showing the rocket ship boot loader. I will have to finish the build now to test it any further or to see if it will boot again. Will update my post soon

It's good that you got it working, but this indicates that the DAT0 connection is probably not solid. Let's hope that it will continue to work, but if you get again a red light, just perform a reading on diode mode with a multimeter (as already suggested) on the DAT0/C point on the chip/flex, this way you could pinpoint the problem and talk again to the seller.
