Wow where do I begin? Your comment screams "I don't have a clue what I'm talking about".
>>Depends on the game. CS online for PC (the online version by nexon)'s graphics aren't that great, well you know, it's CS. But then it takes a LOT of RAM. Explain that. If you can't, you don't even know what you are talking about. It doesn't matter if CS is not an MMO, because it still connects people in the same way as an MMO.
Hahahaha, Ok so a PC online game takes a lot of RAM. Fantastic. How is this relevant to the topic again? Are you trying to deny the fact that there are ANY games on the DS platform since it doesn't have enough ram to run games in general? Where is your logic in this? Your argument is basically none-existent. The fact that
ONE game needs a lot of ram usually means the developers were lazy. It has NOTHING to do with the DS platform. Obviously a DS MMORPG would be developed within the hardware limits of the DS. It's not like we're trying to port World of Warcraft!!
>>and by the way, i have NEVER stated how the amount of RAM it requires decide what platform it will be for.
Sure you did. You said that mobile phones can run MMORPGs because they
have more ram than the DS.
>>So Devil may cry 3 (not even an MMO) says 256, 512 recommended. So try to play that on the DS with only 4 MB of RAM.
Er... WHAT?? Sorry for this off topic question but how old are you? Ok, I'll try my best to answer seriously: Again, the fact that Devil may cry 3 for
PC needs a 256mb ram is completely and utterly irrelevant to the topic whether the DS can run a MMORPG or not. It boggles my mind how you can even make this comparison. According to your logic, seeing as Devil may cry 3 for
PC which is not even a MMORPG cannot run on the DS, it would mean that no other
action game would be able to run on the DS either right? Since the game is not even a MMORPG! Yet we have games like Castlevania series and Ninja Gaiden which are also (non-mmo) action games. So what is your point exactly? Everybody on this entire forum knows that a PC game cannot run on the DS so no point in stating the obvious. I think you need to understand the difference between a PC game and a DS game.
>>Well, no shit sherlock. Take a look at the original statement i've commented to. He said if you look around, there are lots of HOMEBREW MMORPG. So then name them if you can.
Wow so you seriously think there thereare no homebrew MMORPGs around? Ignorance is bliss. Why don't you go to google.com, type in 'homebrew mmorpg' in the search bar and hit 'I'm feeling lucky!' Seriously do that right now. Then come back here and tell me that homebrew MMORPGs doesn't exist.
>>I wasn't agreeing to you, I was posting what I know.
Well, after you managed to use Devil may cry as an argument for why a DS MMORPG is impossible I don't know how valuable your knowledge is.
>>If a game was released in beta, it's still actually released. So CS online is still being developed, new maps are being added, and more weapons etc are being added, too. Just like an MMO i've played from beta (dungeon and fighter), each update was usually graphics, skills, more dungeons, new enemies, and more.
So I'll say then CS online is still being developed and is not completely out. It will still be updated the next year, which will make it 2 years of development. And updates won't stop that soon. Probably more updates until the game is finally shut down.
Look, I've played 3 games from open beta, (dual gate, dungeon and fighter, mabinogi, will play mabinogi heroes as soon as it comes out, and also played FPS games from open beta: CSO, and combat arms.)
No, it's not released if it's in beta. If you think that you obviously don't know what the word
beta means. It's just available to a limited number of users to test it's features BEFORE it's released. And why are you babbling on about updates? It is (again) completely irrelevant. A game wont stop getting updates just because it's not in the beta stage anymore. A "released" game doesn't mean it's an abandoned project and that's especially true for MMORPGs.
>>Prove me that an FPS game didn't take that long to develop.
The development news of combat arms came out over an year ago, and it is finally released as a beta with 1 map and 1 scenario.
So prove me wrong.
I don't have to prove you anything. It was you who said that MMORPGs are not time consuming to develop so YOU will have to prove ME wrong. You can't just look at
one game. That's completely pointless. I hoped that even you would understand that. The
average MMO has a longer development stage than the
average FPS and that is a fact.
