Are you saying if I used the same private certificate for every dump then I would have been safe... ?
Safer potentially. As in you may have made it a few months longer. No one can say for certain

But we do know it still leads to ban eventually. Certs must match the game they came from

Banned since 21.0.0 (running 1.2.2) could have been due to two dumps using the same certificate.

Offline at time of banning, games NEVER played "online" i.e. when wi-fi connected / multiplier.

Games only launched when in Airplane mode.

Seeming fine before 21.0.0 - although I suspect that this is caused by the certificate errors of two games, the system must have a simple detection method to say if a cart with the same XCI is inserted then BAN or that if a specific certificate is found and known to be a known piracy copy then to flag the system to ban.

I'm almost certain the ban occurred within 24 hours.
soadownz is not going to be happy to see this.

This is not surprising, since mixed dumps (where certificates from other games are used) started to be banned back in early 2024 (when Mig appeared).
This is why it is recommended to use mixed dumps only on already banned switches.
Where did you download these dumps? Was it from the Facebook group?

What Facebook group- link please to confirm maybe pm if needed?

To be honest I was just testing and playing around, I have been going since launch with the mig without a hitch.

Two dumps I used had the same certificate.

Which begs the question... the S2 must be checking certificates on insertion and logging them to see if any duplicate ones have been inserted - if so, console telemetry flags for ban.

Additionally, I'm guessing it compares which certificates are "live" i.e. online at the same time - but does not ban them as the check is a simple ping back and is not queued.

Even for the same game which I own SM3DAS - the following files are different from my original vs a dumped cart

- Initial Data
- Card ID Set
- Card UID
- Certificate

Interesting, I have all of my own switch 1 games backed up and run mig on another switch 2 also, all for only my personal backups - shame as I was only testing some other games with no intention to keep as I only like mario and zelda.

if you use games with mixed certs is a secure ban... the safest way to use mig is to use original certs (you can check them on the russian site).
there is no 100% safe way, but if you play a game (offline - airplane mode) that have a cert of another game you'll be banned.

im not still banned, using 21.0.0 two consoles (switch 2).

Switch 2 (a) --> used for updating mig games. Factory restored, airplane mode, insert mig to show games on library (all mig games), put out mig. Connect to internet, Update every game.

when every mig game where updated, then i turn on my switch 2 (b).

i update every game on switch 2 (b) using local update between 2 switch 2.

**(switch 2 (b) always airplane mode)

Then i factory reset my switch 2 (a), play my original games online with no problem and use my switch 2 (b) to play updated mig games offline (all games with original certs, no mixes).

not banned yet.

Airplane mode and factory resetting does not clear logs

It just delays the sending of your dirty logs.

The only known way to erase these logs is to do what you described..but instead of factory resetting you need to dump your eMMC to a pc directly before you even turn your system on for the first time

Than do the airplane mode mess and restore that backup from your pc

But even than. You’re losing all your switch data every single time you do this, and you’re essentially self banning since you can never connect online ..because once you do those dirty logs are going to get sent

Haha, I can't even update my local copy of games on a banned switch... So I don't know exactly how you are doing it????

Im not doing this procedure every day... only when i need to update a game (since switch 2 release until now only 2 times) so i dont need to do this frequently.

Since switch 2 launch im still not banned... no matter if telemetry was sent or not... my logs are dirty since day one (i know that) i know all risk... but is the way i have been doing and is still working (no matter anyhting).

Just for clarify, if i got you, both switch (a and b) are updated to 21.0.0?

I'm thinking to go the same way, but having once not updated (like 20.1.1 ), where i wolud update games only on local. Would work in that way, or must have both switch updated.

Thnak you!!

Can anyone tell me a reliable source to buy a Mig Switch and Dumper from? The official website is dead, all the other websites I've read scam reports about, and Aliexpress doesn't have any listed.

Where the heck am I supposed to buy this from?

I was banned by accidently using the same certificate for two different games, user error.

if there was a way to make our own certs without getting banned...
Not really unless you have nintendo's private key to create the certificates. And using certificates from other games you will end up banned.
The only way to make "your own certs" is to dump your cartridges. You will get the certificate from that cartridge and be able to use it with your game.

The official web has not been off for a while. they put the link a few messages ago, just make sure you don't add the www. or it won't work.
Their message system seems not to be working, so sending messages in their web seems to be not working, and N** has been taking off quite a number of vendors with their cease or desist ways.

Does anyone know if the Mig can be used on the Switch 2 to mod legit/owned games? Like how atmosphere allows applying patches to the games? Even if its a matter of manually applying the patches?

I'm expecting the answer is no. And that the reason is that if modded it would fail some cert checks, but figured I would ask.

Modded games don’t run at all on MiG you need CFW for that

Just to put it simple: it's a cartridge emulator where you can just apply images of the original switch 1 cartridges. Anything other than that doesn't work.
